The new "Ask the Specialists" Roundtable is the latest spin-off from the "Ask the Torch" feature. CSI led to CSI: New York and CSI: Miami, which is where you'll find the Specialists tackling a daily topic submitted by PWTorch readers to askpwtorch@gmail.com.

Ask the Specialists Roundtable #3

- Question from R. Jack: Sometime last year, I asked this question: Is there a youth movement in WWE? The Shield had risen, A.J. was on top, Daniel Bryan was gaining notoriety, etc. The answers given were no's. My question now is, do you feel there is a youth movement now? The Shield are in the main storyline, Daniel Bryan is finally champion, Cesaro has become a star, Paige is Divas Champ after beating another great Diva, A.J. Lee, Alexander Rusev is in, and Bo Dallas and Adam Rose are coming. Not to mention that soon to be: the man that beats THE man who defeated The Streak. Has the torch been passed?

"Instant Reaction" Ben Tucker (@BTuckerTorch) responds: The possibility for there to be a full-fledged Attitude Era-esque youth movement is here now more than ever, but the key, as always, is follow-up. We could be on the verge of another Creative nosedive in quality, or right on the cusp of greatness. If everything holds up like it did last Monday night, then yes, we are definitely in a youth movement.

"Common Fan" Jimmy Eaton (@TheCommonFan) responds: Thanks for the question. I don't know if any Torches have been officially passed because as you mentioned, we've seen this before and it ends up fizzling out quickly. I will say that we've never been closer at this point to seeing a passing of the torch. Will all of those talent be up to the challenge? I'm not sure, but so far we've seen that at least some of them at very close. Of course that would be Daniel Bryan. It'll be a fun next few months I believe to see who truly is given the torch.

- Question from Jeff in Michigan: When Sting debuts live on Raw, what is the best way to introduce him to viewers who don't know who he is? Does he need a long promo feeding off Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan, or simply a run-in?

"Instant Reaction" Ben Tucker (@BTuckerTorch) responds: I'd have him debut before front of a hardcore audience (say, Chicago) in a run-in fashion, then give the announcers a week to gush over him before he cuts his first promo. That should be enough to establish him with the target demographics. If it takes the rest of the audience longer to become acquainted with him, then they really aren't the ones WWE should be targeting in the first place with the Stinger.

"Common Fan" Jimmy Eaton (@TheCommonFan) responds: Good question, Jeff. I think a run-in would be a waste as a guy like him should be built up as someone larger than life. Take advantage of older WCW footage with Flair and Hogan and let him stand on his own. I think his reaction will be enough even if he is a new face to younger fans. A good promo won't hurt either, but I think he should be associated by himself as much as possible with older footage backing up what a big deal he is. That said, I hope he's not introduced as a new talent but more-so a legend who is coming where he rightfully belongs.
