WWE Network Thursday Night Reaction 4/17
By Ben Tucker, PWTorch TV specialist

Ultimate Warrior Tribute Show (8.0)

Of all of the first-run programming on WWE Network on Thursday, the Ultimate Warrior special was by far the most impactful. The actual facts used in the video are of course few and far between, but it was a stunning emotional piece nonetheless and an incredible feat to get accomplished in mere days.

In successfully portraying Warrior in a positive light, WWE gave the Hall of Famer a goodbye that he would be proud of. If you have 57 minutes available, then you might as well check this out. At it's heart, it's still a complete fluff piece, but it's a nice one.

Legends House (5.5)

"Legends House" feels like a reality TV show that tries to actually show reality. Whereas "Total Divas" is fun because of its ridiculous over-the-top nature, Legends House falls flat because it doesn't pull enough punches and leaves viewers with cliffhangers that don't make sense. Sure, the same thing is done with Total Divas, but at least those hooks you feel slightly compelled to pay attention to given the fact that everyone acts insane on the show.

Roddy Piper is the only marginally interesting character on this new program (other than Gary Busey, who's apparently a heel because he was brought on the show and then promptly mocked the entire time he was on-screen), but even watching him feels too much like watching a typical eccentric elderly man. There's nothing special to "Legends House," no pizzazz, no entertainment factor. I would give this show one more shot down the line, but at the moment it feels like I'm watching a bunch of extra footage lumped together because they didn't have enough drama to fill out an entire show.

WWE NXT (4.5)

Yes indeed, certainly no show can produce good results 100 percent of the time, and I thought NXT had a rough night on the Network. The sole stand-out performance came from Tyler Breeze, who literally did nothing but call himself gorgeous. I can see the attempt to build up a new mid-card to replace the talents who will be getting called up to the main roster soon, but a lot of these wrestlers aren't clicking in their first outings on the Network.

Oliver Grey and Camacho weren't given much time and didn't use any of it to create something at least slightly memorable, Colin Cassady is still green in the ring (and suffering from a severe lack of Enzo Amore), Jordan and Dellinger are apparently faces but over-emote to the point where they seem like heels, etc. And none of the matches on the show delivered in the least. NXT had a lot of potential this week and yet didn't produce a single true hit. With no important story implications this week and nothing impressive in-ring-wise, NXT isn't worth spending much time on this week.

In other words, the Warrior show is a big hit, "Legends House" is okay filler. and NXT did anything but deliver.
