Welcome to the TNA Impact edition of Under the Microscope. We're here to review all those little observations and tidbits you may have missed. This is not a detailed recap of the show, but a review for those of you that saw the show but didn't actually "watch" it.

After last week, we know that Team 3D are babyfaces yet again, Eric Young was never an X Division champion and some one's getting a pink slip for Christmas. But what else is there to notice? Let's see what we can spot. Cue the opening pyro.

Rhino starts tonight's show in the ring with the TNA originals and christens the group with the new name, the Front Line. The guys in the ring sell this as the first time they had heard this pitch from Rhino, but apparently they were the last to be informed of this name change. As Rhino and the guys made their way to the ring, not only is there new intro music, but a graphic on the screen behind them with the new Front Line logo. Rhino must be good friends with the graphics guys, as they were informed of the decision and had time to create a new logo and entrance video before any of the guys in the group were even informed of it.

Oh goodie, the main hype to open tonight's show is for the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Bowl. While it was a bit funny to see A.J. Style's throw a fit after losing last year, this is a tradition that needs to be dropped. I don't understand how TNA views this as a ratings draw for a Thanksgiving show. Be thankful it's just once a year we have to suffer a ridiculous costume. It could be worse, as we could see a Punxsutawni Phil suit for Groundhog Day, an Abe Lincoln costume for President's Day or maybe a tree costume for Arbor Day.

I'm not sure how the Turkey Bowl will play out tonight, and honestly, I don't care. However, after seeing the participants on TNA's web site, here are my pics for what will happen. Rhino will win the cash reward to continue the mini push he has going and Sheik Abdul Bashir will take the pin. Bashir would be perfect for this as he could throw a fit about Thanksgiving being an American holiday and give us his usual anti-American promo to further his character.

We've all seen how the world of trademarks have taken away the use of the Dudley's, Bubba Ray and D-Von (he now officially goes by Devon, his real first name). Hard to tell if it was a slip of the tongue or a trademark loophole, but Rhino actually called Brother Ray Bubba during their backstage locker room confrontation tonight. This isn't the first time Brother Ray has been called Bubba in TNA. When Team 3D was in the storyline where they were trying to make weight every week in their feud with the X Division, referee Earl Hebner called him Bubba during weigh ins on a few occasions as well.

I'm actually a fan of some of the TNA booking decisions and how many characters are portrayed as tweeners. Good people do bad things and bad people do good things. But there is a difference between shades of grey and confusing booking. Jimmy Rave and Lance Rock of the Rock 'n' Rave Infection are portrayed as heels, but their valet Christy Hemme is currently the babyface in her feud with Awesome Kong. That is just mish-mash booking in my opinion, not a way to portray someone in the tweener role.

Final Resolution will see the return of the "Feast or Fired" match. There are 14 names to choose from this year as to who will get one of the three title shots and who will be fired. My early pic for getting the pink slip is B.G. James. B.G. has been phased out of an in-ring role and has been serving as an agent behind the scenes. His return for this match is an indication that this may be the way TNA is going. I just can't see any of the other competitors being fired, only to return as a masked Japanese wrestler. While B.G. seems like the logical decision, I'm still holding out hope that Curry Man is fired leading to the return of Christopher Daniels.

TNA has the right approach when it comes to storyline firings. The two that come to mind are Daniels and Kaz. Too often in WWE we see a wrestler fired only to return mere weeks later on a different brand, or sometimes the same show (William Regal on Raw earlier this year). Since the kayfabe departures of Daniels and Kaz in TNA, they have been completely forgotten to sell the fact that they were actually fired. It has now been a full year since we saw the firing of Daniels, as TNA has sold his firing as legitimate to the casual fan.

Tonight's Thanksgiving edition of TNA, the one where families are more likely to be sitting around watching TV together, had a bleep counter total of seven. Five instances of the word a** and two instances of s**** from Kevin Nash.

I don't know if my opinion is shared by others, or maybe I'm just in a crabby mood (my occupation is in retail management and tomorrow is Black Friday). But tonight's show was a big steaming pile of bleep, to keep up with TNA's fascination with a swear word in every segment. A whole bunch of meaningless matches leading up to nothing but a wrestler in a turkey suit is not my idea of a great show. TNA could have taken advantage of the fact that the majority of people are at home tonight and don't have access to the game on the NFL network and put on a great show to impress new viewers. Instead they give us the usual throw away show we are accustomed to every year - and this is coming from a TNA fan and supporter.

Tonight is Thanksgiving, a time to reflect on what we are thankful for in this world. After watching tonight's Impact I'm thankful that the Turkey Bowl comes but once a year, Homicide kept his Rough Cuts segment clean this week and Kip James was standing for the entire show tonight.

Numbers crunched harder than an unprotected chair shot to the head: Last week I mentioned the fact that this month's PPV will be number 50 for TNA. I pointed out how A.J. Styles wins the participation award for competing in a match on all 49 of their previous monthly PPVs. But there are other interesting numbers to point out about TNA and their PPV history so far.

Wins and losses can be misleading in the wrestling world. An eight-man tag match has four winners and four losers, but only two wrestlers involved in the actual pin. A ten-man X Division spotfest will have one winner and nine losers when all is said and done. But it is still interesting to look at official wins and loses over the course of TNA's PPV history. A.J. Styles is 25-25-1 in his PPV history so far, which puts him second on the wins list. Samoa Joe would be number one on that list with a record of 27-14-1. Those multi-person X Division matches cause some guys to rack up a lot of loses, which is why Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Petey Williams all lead the list with 29 official loses on PPV. Hard to call them loses, more like matches they did not win.

Some of the fresh faces in TNA are starting PPV streaks of their own. Poor Jimmy Rave is 0-8 in his PPV history with TNA. While that name is not much of a surprise, it is interesting to note that Consequences Creed also has a goose egg in the wins column after his first seven PPV matches. Rave, Creed, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Christy Hemme and Raisha Saeed are the only wrestlers in TNA right now without a victory on PPV. On the reverse side, Taylor Wilde recently lost the Knockout's Title, but should petition for a future title shot on a PPV as she has started her TNA career 5-0 in PPV matches.
