Lucha Underground Report
June 3, 2015
Taped in Los Angeles, Calif.
Episode #30 aired on El Rey Network
Report by Joel Dehnel, PWTorch contributor

The show opened with a video package featuring Sexy Star, Super Fly, Pentagon, Jr., and the Trios Tag champions.

Backstage: Chavo Guerrero was in Dario's office. He explained that the woman is back and she has been trained. Chavo said he is protecting her because his debt will be erased. Dario said he wants her head on a silver platter then pulled out some cash. Chavo requested protection in Mexico, then Dario then asked what he really wants.

Opening credits rolled which brought us to The Temple to begin the show.

Announcers: Matt Striker hyped a submission match later tonight. Vampiro said there would also be a Trios Tag match.

In-ring: Santos introduced Jack Evans to the ring. His opponent tonight is Argenis. Dario walked out and said that Argenis comes from a great history of luchadors, but nobody cares about him. Evans has had only one match so nobody cares about him, either. So to make this match interesting it will be for one of the seven medallions.

1 -- JACK EVANS vs. ARGENIS

They went to shake hands, but Evans kneed Argenis. Evans kicked and threw down Argenis then taunted the crowd. Evans went for a huracanrana, but Argenis countered with a powerbomb. Evans swung around the ref to kick Argenis. He followed up with a series of roundhouse kicks.

Evans went to the top, but was kicked down by Argenis. Evans locked in an armbar, but Argenis got to the ropes to break the hold. Evans hit a cartwheel back-elbow, then threw Argenis into the turnbuckle but was countered with a German Suplex. Evans fell to the outside then Argenis dove on top of him. But, Evans responded by driving Argenis into the barricade. Argenis slammed Evans for another nearfall. Argenis went for a clothesline, but Evans caught him with a back slide and bridge for the win.

WINNER: Jack Evans at 6:07.

[Break]

Backstage: Daivari met with Big Ryck backstage. Daivari said that there's a opportunity for the trios tag title. Ryck suggested The Mack. Cage stepped up and said he was the better man. He threw The Mack in the lockers, then Daivari welcomed Cage to the team.

Chavo told the woman that her first match was tonight. He said that he would get Dario's key and unleash his brother so she could kill him. The woman looked away, then Chavo tried to punch her but she blocked the attack with the locker door. She then beat down Chavo. Castro and Cisco ran in to attack her, but she took then down. Chavo then beat her from behind and handcuffed her.

In-ring: Santos introduced the the trio tag challengers to the ring.

2 -- Trios Tag champions IVELISSE & ANGÉLICO & SON OF HAVOC vs. CAGE & DELAVAR DAIVARI & BIG RYCK - Trios Tag Title match

Angélico started by kicking Cage. Cage landed a clothesline then rammed him into the turnbuckle. Angélico countered Cage then Havoc tagged in. Cage hit a double clothesline then Daivari tagged in. Havoc hit a tilt-a-whirl head scissors, then hit a back elbow followed by a standing moonsault. Daivari tried to gain leverage, but Havoc capitalized then Angélico tagged in.

Cage dominated Angélico, then Ryck came in. Ryck clobbered Angélico in the corner. Daivari tagged in and continued to beat down Angélico. Ryck jabbed Angélico in the stomach, then went for a suplex but transferred Angélico over to Cage and he hit the suplex. Cage powerbombed Angélico, then Angélico escaped and went for a schoolboy. No pin. Angélico knocked over Cage, but Cage still tagged Ryck. Ryck knocked over Havoc, then tagged Daivari, who hit a back body drop. Suddenly, El Texano interfered and knocked over Cage. Havoc hit a splash on Daivari for the win.

WINNER: Angélico & Son of Havoc & Ivelisse at 7:39 to retain the titles.

[Break]

Backstage: Chavo came into Dario's office with the woman tied up. Dario said he has a special spot for her right across from his brother.

In-ring: Santos introduced a main event submission match. First to the ring was Pentagon, Jr. Sexy Star came out second. After the break, Pentagon said he will break Star for his Master.

[Break]

3 -- SEXY STAR vs. PENTAGON, JR. - Submission match

Star tried to attack Pentagon during his speech, but Pentagon knocked down Star. Pentagon tried to lock Star's leg, but she escaped and locked down Pentagon's head. Pentagon broke free and dropped Star. Star then hit a huracanrana and dove onto Pentagon outside the ring. She threw Pentagon into the ringpost a few times, then drove her leg into his face against the ring apron. She continued to kick him outside the ring until she rolled him back in and superkicked him.

Star grabbed Pentagon's legs and wrapped her arm around his neck. She let go, then Pentagon responded with a Tombstone Piledriver-like submission. Star flipped over Pentagon and went for another submission. Pentagon got up and superkicked Star. Pentagon wrapped up Sexy Star's legs. She got to the ropes to break the hold. Pentagon went for a baseball slide, but Star dodged the attack. She climbed the barricade and hit a cross-body.

Star dropped Pentagon in the ring and locked in a half-Boston Crab. Suddenly, Super Fly ran into the ring and punched Star. He hit a sit-down powerbomb, then threw Star over to Pentagon. Pentagon hit a package piledriver. He then lifted up Star by pushing on he legs and holding onto her neck, which forced Star to submit.

WINNER: Pentagon, Jr. at 9:34.

Post-match: Pentagon went to break Star's arm, but Vampiro broke it up by pushing over Pentagon. He stood toe-to-toe with Pentagon as the fans cheered for him. Vampiro dipped out of the ring towards the back.

Backstage: Vampiro was in the bathroom looking in the mirror. He slammed his head against the mirror multiple times until it cracked.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Good build-up at the end for a potential in-ring return for Vampiro. It had a nice build that finally led to Vampiro being frustrated and saving Sexy Star.

SUMMARY RESULTS: (1) Evans pinned Argenis to receive a medallion... (2) Ivelisse, Son of Havoc, and Angélico retained their championships... (3) Pentagon, Jr. submitted Sexy Star.
