Lucha Underground Report
March 18, 2015
Taped in Los Angeles, Calif.
Episode #19 aired on El Rey Network
Report by Joel Dehnel, PWTorch contributor

Announcers: Matt Striker and Vampiro.

The show opened with a video package featuring Big Ryck, The Crew, Dario, Drago, AeroStar, Mil Muertes, and Fenix. Opening credits rolled which brought us to The Temple to begin the show.

Announcers: Vampiro and Striker welcomed the audience to the show.

In-ring: Santos introduced AeroStar for the opening contest. His opponent is Drago.

1 -- AEROSTAR vs. DRAGO -- Match #3 in Best of Five Series

Drago flipped over AeroStar, who then arm-dragged Drago trying to gain leverage. Drago put in AeroStar in a figure-four leglock, but AeroStar grabbed the ropes and forced the break. AeroStar rolled around Drago and went for a pin. Drago leg tripped AeroStar, then Drago slammed AeroStar and went for another pin. AeroStar escaped the ring, then kicked Drago. AeroStar took control in the ring until both competitors ran into each other.

AeroStar tripped Drago on the ropes, then kicked his head. AeroStar hit a mother of a dropkick that launched Drago to the outside. AeroStar then springboarded onto Drago. Drago gained advantage and hit a DDT. Drago picked up AeroStar and planted his face into the mat. AeroStar finally escaped Drago and stomped his chest.

AeroStar fell to the outside and Drago hit a corkscrew. Drago hit a running sit-down powerbomb, then went to the top rope. AeroStar knocked him off balance and nailed a huracanrana. He followed it up with a springboard dive for the victory.

WINNER: AeroStar at 8:10.

Post-match: They shook hands, then AeroStar celebrated.

[Break]

Vignette: Video package on Konnan comparing chess to combat. It was revealed that he was playing chess with Prince Puma.

[Break]

In-ring: Santos introduced The Crew already in the ring. Big Ryck was out next.

2 -- BIG RYCK vs. THE CREW (BAEL & MR. CISCO & CORTEZ CASTRO) -- three-on-one handicap elimination match

Ryck tried to take out all of The Crew, but they held him down. Castro kicked Ryck followed by dropkicks from Cisco and Bael. Cisco stomped on Ryck's back into a DDT from Castro. The Crew taunted the crowd, then Bael set a chair in the corner. Ryck threw Bael into the chair, but Castro tried to use a cane on Ryck, only to have Ryck take the cane and beat down The Crew. Ryck chokeslammed Bael for the first elimination.

Castro and Cisco tried to double-suplex Ryck, but Ryck overpowered them and suplexed them. Ryck clotheslined Castro for the next elimination. Cisco tried to run away, but Sexy Star threw Cisco back to the ring. Ryck punched Cisco's eye then grabbed a chair. Ryck sideslammed Cisco onto the chair for the win.

WINNER: Big Ryck at 6:16.

[Break]

Announcers: Striker announced that next week Texano will face Alberto El Patrón for the AAA Championship in a bullrope match and Cage will take on Prince Puma for the Lucha Championship in a Street Fight.

In-ring: Santos announced the rules for the main event Grave Consequences match (same as a casket match). First to the ring was Mil Muertes.

[Break]

3 -- MIL MUERTES vs. FENIX (w/Catrina) -- Grave Consequences Match

Muertes dove onto Fenix at the start. Muertes kicked Fenix and clubbed him in the ring. Fenix went for a dropkick, but Muertes moved . Muertes escaped the ring, then Fenix hit a Senton bomb to the outside, and Muertes knocked Fenix into the coffin. Fenix then drove Muertes into the coffin. Fenix went for a suicide dive, but ran into the coffin.

Muertes tore Fenix's mask, then unhinged the turnbuckle. Muertes took a metal piece from the turnbuckle and hit Fenix over the head. Fenix was bloodied and face was almost fully exposed. They ran up the steps of The Temple and Muertes rammed Fenix into multiple objects. At the top, they teased a big suplex, but Fenix flew into a metal ceiling, then they moved back to the ringside area. Muertes powerbombed Fenix onto the announce table, but it did not break.

Muertes brought the coffin into the ring, then belly-to-belly suplexed Fenix into the coffin. Fenix fought back with a superkick, but Muertes drove his head into mat. Fenix and Muertes went to the outside and into the crowd. Muertes threw chairs at Fenix and forced the crowd out of their seats. Fenix still fought back and knocked Muertes over the ledge. Fenix landed a Senton bomb off the ledge, but Muertes got up and threw Fenix into the barricade. Fenix broke through and climbed the ledge again and hit a moonsault.

Both men clubbed each other back and forth. Muertes accidentally clotheslined Catrina, who then got up and opened the coffin. Fenix stomped Muertes and he fell into the coffin. Catrina grabbed the stone and gave it the kiss of death before she shut the door on Muertes.

WINNER: Fenix at 14:45. Really good main event match this week.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I can't wait until next week for the two title matches. I'm interested to see how Lucha Underground handles having two world champions... I'm really starting to miss the backstage segments. There were not any backstage segments this week and the same this week. The scenes in Dario's office are one of the really great elements that distinguishes LU from everything else out there.

SUMMARY RESULTS: (1) AeroStar pinned Drago in the opening contest... (2) Big Ryck defeated The Crew... (3) Fenix closed the coffin on Mil Muertes in the main event.
