Lucha Underground Report
December 3, 2014
Taped in Los Angeles, Calif.
Episode #6 aired on El Rey Network
Report by Joel Dehnel, PWTorch contributor

Announcers: Matt Striker and Vampiro.

Lucha Underground opened with a video package recalling the events of the past several weeks involving Konnan, Prince Puma, Johnny Mundo, and Big Ryck.

Opening credits rolled which brought us to The Temple to begin the show.

Backstage: Dario was sitting with Big Ryck. They were negotiating Big Ryck's contract. Dario said that nobody is safe and violence is his favourite entertainment.

In-ring: Son of Havoc was with Ivelisse. Ivelisse said that Son of Havoc is sick of being treated like a joke. She said that they didn't sign a seven-year contract to wrestle in this dump. Son of Havoc then issued an open challenged to anyone in the locker room. Pimpinela Escarlata accepted the challenge.

1 -- PIMPINELA ESCARLATA vs. SON OF HAVOC (w/Ivelisse)

Pimp chopped Havoc and brought him to the top rope. Pimp dove onto Ivelisse from the top. Havoc tripped Pimp and took control with a flying forearm. Pimp broke free and went to the top for an arm drag. He then jumped onto Havoc on the outside. Havoc then flipped over Pimp and went for a pin. Havoc threw Pimp to the outside and Havoc dropped an elbow from the top. Havoc went for a pin but Pimp escaped. Mascarita Sagrada came out and chased Ivelisse. Pimp then got a roll up for the win.

WINNER: Pimpinela at 4:48.

[JD's Reax: Well it was only a matter of time until we got a real stinker of match on Lucha Underground.]

[Break]

Backstage: Dario was in the restroom, but was interrupted by Johnny Mundo. Mundo attacked Dario and took the key from around his neck exclaiming that he needs insurance.

In ring: Melissa Santos introduced Famous B already in the ring. Mil Muertes is his opponent tonight.

[Break]

2 -- MIL MUERTES (w/Catrina) vs. FAMOUS B

Muertes attacked B quickly and kicked him down. Muertes threw B into the corner and into the ground. Muertes hit a spear and The Flatliner for the win.

WINNER: Muertes at 1:09.

Following the match, Catrina licked Famous B's face.

Announcers: Striker went back to the events that conspired between King Cuerno and Drago. A short video package aired to give us a better understanding of Drago.

[Break]

In ring: Santos introduced Drago already in the ring. King Cuerno emerged from smoke and was announced as Drago's opponent.

3 -- DRAGO vs. KING CUERNO

Cuerno drop kicked Drago and stomped his back. Drago countered and hit a huracanrana. Cuerno hit two knees to Drago's chest. Cuerno hit another dropkick and went for a pin. Drago escaped and hit a front flip on Cuerno. The camera showed a mysterious woman intently watching the match. Drago gained momentum so Cuerno ran out of the ring again. Drago hot a corkscrew to the outside. Back in the ring, Drago went for and interesting roll up but Cuerno kicked out. Cuerno hit a suicide dive to the outside when Drago escaped the ring. Back in the ring Cuerno hit The Thrill of the Hunt for the victory.

WINNER: Cuerno at 4:25 with The Thrill of the Hunt.

[Break]

In-ring: Johnny Mundo came out to the ring and said Dario owes him $100,000 and he will give him until the count of ten to give it to him. Big Ryck then came out and told Mundo to shut up. Mundo had enough and dove onto Big Ryck. Mundo continued his count until he was interrupted by Konnan. Konnan said that Mundo owes that money to Prince Puma. Big Ryck attacked Mundo from behind until Puma came out for the save. Puma and Mundo started to attack each other with a few punches back and forth (Both guys need to work on their worked punches because there was almost no contact from both ends.). Security came out to separate the two men until suddenly Dario said that the $100,000 is Big Ryck's signing bonus. He said Ryck needs to earn the money and next week there will be a ladder match between Puma, Mundo, and Ryck for the money.

[Break]

In-ring: Santos Introduced Chavo and Pentagon first. Their opponents are Sexy Star and Fenix.

4 -- SEXY STAR & FENIX vs. PENTAGON, JR. & CHAVO GUERRERO, JR.

A huge melee started the match. Fenix hit a huracanrana on Pentagon and Pentagon ran to the outside. Chavo then started the match with Fenix and Fenix hit a solid dropkick. Star came in to fight Chavo, but Chavo knocked her down . He dragged her by her hair to the corner. He tagged in Pentagon, who maintained control. Chavo came back in shortly until he made the tag to Fenix. Fenix hit a few kicks to knock down Chavo. Chavo came back with a clothesline. Pentagon was tagged back in and hit a powerbomb on Fenix.

Chavo kicked Fenix and continued to dominate. Fenix made a comeback and tagged in Star who took out Pentagon and Chavo. Fenix stomped on Chavo's back but was taken out by Pentagon. Star hit a tilt a whirl DDT on Pentagon followed by a corkscrew off the top rope. Fenix tossed Chavo to the outside and hit a corkscrew of his own. Back in the ring, Chavo countered Star's cross-body and slammed her. Chavo went to the top, but was knocked off by Fenix. Star hit a power bomb on Pentagon. Fenix drilled his knees into Pentagon's face and Star got the pin for the win.

WINNER: Fenix and Sexy Star at 9:17.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Those that have been following the show from the start kind of know what to expect by now with the lucha style. The main event was the only stand-out match tonight, but they also did a good job with the in-ring segment of Mundo and Puma. My only fear is that with Lucha Underground's dwindling audience, this episode doesn't take another step backwards and take another giant hit in the ratings. With that being said Lucha Underground did a great job getting the fans excited about the ladder match next week, which I expect would boost next week's rating. Next week would be a great time to jump into watching Lucha Underground if you haven't seen it yet or have tuned out after a few episodes.
