A solid one-hour episode of TV with two good singles matches book-ending the show. Since I feel like I'm reviewing the same matches every week, I'll look at the big picture that I really believe WWE needs to put some sort of made-up value on these matches to enhance the value of the Superstars show. Create a standings or rankings or point system to where a victory on Superstars gives someone like Matt Hardy a chance for a guaranteed TV main event on Smackdown down the line. Or, a future IC Title shot. Or, more points lead to guaranteed PPV matches to have a chance to shine on the "biggest stage," which would also enhance the importance of PPVs.
For D.H. Smith, WWE could have played up how big of an opportunity a victory would have meant for his career to receive a Smackdown main event or PPV opportunity or future singles title shot. It would create a sense of urgency facing Hardy and give him more reason to be upset with Tyson Kidd and Natalya for inadvertently costing him the match. WWE could build up tension, then see whether the team regroups or continues to have issues that play out over time. Issues, competition, value to what happens inside the ring. It's very basic storytelling that WWE can control since they control the outcomes of the matches. Instead, what we had in actuality was Hardy scoring a win over Smith and WWE moving along to the next match. There should be more value to these matches to entice viewers to watch Superstars instead of saying, "Oh, that's a skippable show."
The main event of Ted DiBiase vs. MVP was just fine. It wasn't bland or boring. It was just a serviceable main event between two mid-carders on Raw. Again, this match could have meant something for MVP to get a marquee singles match that could be played up on Raw if there was some sort of reward/incentive program. Announcers could be talking up MVP moving into the top-tier of the points/reward standings and be in line for a future title shot, PPV match opportunity, etc. It would boost MVP's profile after sputtering a bit in the last few months since being drafted from Smackdown. Anything to create more value/reward for these Superstars matches is acceptable in my book.

I enjoyed this week's Superstars. I have commented before that I like the formula for the show with only three matches, where two of the three are two-segment. That is what we got this week, and the two-segment matches, Matt Hardy vs. DH Smith and Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Ted DiBiase were both good. The first got the show off on the a good note. I have not been very impressed with Smith thus far and would have rather seen Hardy face off against Tyson Kidd. However, both Hardy and Smith performed well here. If Hardy can find a tag team partner, a possible new feud for the Hart Dynasty (anything than more matches against Cryme Tyme) would be welcome. The other match was even better with MVP taking on DiBiase. We haven't seen much in terms of longer singles matches from MVP lately (or DiBiase for that matter) so this was nice. Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes at ringside added to the match.
There wasn't much else to really like about the show, but there weren't any negatives. Zack Ryder vs. Shelton Benjamin was solid. I liked the Shaemus video. There was a decent interview with Legacy before the main event. It was a good show.

Matt Hardy looked a lot better against D.H. Smith than he did the previous week against Batista on Smackdown. Smith looked good as well in a rare singles appearance. Ryder vs. Benjamin would be a good feud if they weren't so focused on the Rosa situation. Ryder had all this momentum, and it has gone kaput the last few weeks.
MVP vs. Ted DiBiase, much like the Hardy vs. Smith match, was very serviceable. This one also fed into the Legacy vs. Henry & MVP feud as well. The in-ring action was a step up from the usual Superstars fare, and there were some developments within feuds too, like the Benjamin vs. Ryder situation.
