James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (6.5)

Decent episode of ECW TV with a fine ECW Title match between Christian and William Regal. The title match never really moved out of second gear and followed a basic formula to tease Christian in jeopardy of losing the title throughout the match before "overcoming the odds." He was down, but not out, brother. Christian just thought positively, saw that life was beautiful, and pulled the nose up on this thing.

On a more serious note, Abraham Washington and Yoshi Tatsu. Oh wait.

Now that Regal is presumably out of the ECW Title picture, ECW has to line up a few competitors to take a run at the title. Yoshi received his title shot. So did Ryder. Jackson and Kozlov seem like the next-in-line with WWE loving to load up on big heels for top babyface champions to run through. Burchill isn't there. Vance Archer is intense. And that's all we know. Perhaps a heel from Raw or Smackdown could make the jump after Sheamus storyline-jumped ship to Raw. We'll wait and see.

Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (5.5)

I might be going a little harsh on this week's score, but this show was just too little in proportion to what I was hoping for. I'm mostly talking about the main event here, because it proved something I've been trying to put my finger on for the past two months: There's something about Christian and Regal together that just doesn't click. They're both great workers in and out of the ring (though I still don't like Christian's current character), but something about their matches is missing that X-factor that takes them from good to great. As was mentioned in the Reax, I'm really curious to see where Christian goes from here.

Vance Archer could be good in a month or two as the next in line, but he needs a squash build first, maybe a feud with Goldust or something. I'd have said Shelton Benjamin, but he's been MIA of late. Hurricane is probably a no-go, as I'd rather stick with Tatsu if a face-face feud happens, and Zach Ryder is stuck in ridiculous angle land. Also, when is Abraham Washington going to actually wrestle? Just once, I would love to see him get thrown around the ring, and you could get MAJOR babyface heat on him for whoever did it.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.0)

Christian vs. Regal was slightly under expectations, but still, better than most TV main events on ECW or Raw. I thought giving Regal the title here would be the right move and freshen things up. Unless WWE has plans for a heel to challenge Christian, because it doesn't seem like they have anything lined up as of right now. Burchill losing to Goldust would seem to indicate he'll be winning next week. Let's see how it plays out.

I don't mind Ryder's infatuation with Rosa, but the dream sequences are dumb. Ryder as a top-notch heel with Rosa as his valet could be great, but him doing this "funny" stuff causes him to lose some edge. Nothing stands out about Vance Archer. He has that Waylon Mercy-like facial expressions about him, but whether WWE goes that route with him is another story. His finisher needs work though.
