TNA NEWS: TNA announces new contract with Matt Hardy

-- March 10: TNA announced a new contract with Matt Hardy, making him an official full-time roster member.

-- March 9: Matt Hardy released a YouTube video saying he will be taking more TNA dates and fewer independent bookings at this stage of his career.

Hardy incorporated a discussion of his future schedule into current TNA storylines, where he is feuding with The Revolution after they took out his brother, Jeff Hardy.

Hardy, 40, says he has to train harder and more diligently to keep up with the current TNA roster if he wants to achieve his goals of becoming TNA Tag Champions with Jeff and becoming top wrestler on the roster. That means fewer tours and less travel on the independent circuit.

"As time went on, I kept my 'Big Money' Matt Schedule. At one point, not only was I working with TNA on a handshake deal doing all their TV events, but I kept my full-time territorial schedule where I was Hvt. champion in eight of the promotions I worked for," Hardy said.

"I noticed three, four months ago that I was starting to wear down; I was starting to be physically, mentally, and emotionally tired. I was drained. I was over-working myself. And I know that was something I promised myself when I got back in this game that I wasn't going to do."

Hardy did not say whether he will part of the next set of Impact TV tapings, which run March 13-16 in Orlando. However, he talked about a quest to be featured more prominently on Impact, implying he will be part of the tapings.
