TNA Impact last Thursday, March 6 officially scored a 0.93 rating off a first hour 0.94 rating and second hour 0.92 rating.

For the tenth consecutive week to start 2014, Impact peaked in Q1 following the "Cops" lead-in on Spike TV. Q1 was the only quarter-hour above a 1.0.

The show started with a 1.05, dipped to a 0.89 by Q4, bumped up to a 0.99 rating at the top of the second hour, and fell the remainder of the second hour, finishing with a show-low 0.86 rating for the tacked-on Magnus-Samoa Joe final confrontation before Lockdown.

Impact Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a 1.05 rating for the Lethal Lockdown participants jockeying for position before the PPV, plus one commercial, and a teaser to stick around for a six-man tag on the other side of the break.

Q2: Impact fell 12 percent to a 0.92 rating for the six-man tag match and one commercial.

Q3: Impact was about even at a 0.91 rating for follow-up on the six-man tag suspended, Sam Shaw creepiness, Shaw vs. Eric Young, and one commercial.

Q4: Impact slipped to a 0.89 rating for video packages, backstage segments, and two full commercial breaks.

Q5: Impact bumped up to a 0.99 rating at the top of the hour for Ethan Carter III calling out Kurt Angle to set up an injury write-off, one commercial, and video packages.

Q6: Impact began its descent to a 0.94 rating for a Knockouts tag match, one commercial, and more of Sam Shaw creeping around backstage.

Q7: Impact slipped again to a 0.90 rating for James Storm and Gunner setting up their Lockdown match, one commercial, and the continuation of the six-man tag with Davey Richards vs. Bobby Roode.

Q8: Impact slipped again to a show-low 0.86 rating for the end of Richards vs. Roode, one commercial, and the Magnus-Joe confrontation that was presented like a tack-on to the rest of the show leading into Lockdown.

Caldwell's Analysis: A few conclusions to draw here. One is either "Cops" re-runs have a significantly larger audience than a first-run Impact episode or TNA is driving away a "new audience" tuning in for Impact as the show unfolds. Another is the audience is not connecting with the current talent roster or did not connect with the feuds leading into Lockdown. Overall, there has to be a shift in the product - will TNA try (again) to address that starting tonight on Impact following Lockdown developments?
