TNA wrestler/MMA fighter King Mo was knocked out mid-way through the first round of his MMA fight Thursday night on Spike TV's "Bellator MMA" broadcast.

Mo lost to "Hardcore Kid" Emanuel Newton at officially 2:35 in the second semi-final bout of Bellator's Light Heavyweight tournament, ending Mo's run in the tournament.

"I got caught. Great job Emanuel. Anyone can be defeated. Back to the drawing board. Thanx 4 the support!" Mo tweeted about 15 minutes after his loss.

The finish came when Mo avoided a lunging punch from Newton, but left himself open, dropped his hands, and Newton delivered a decisive spinning back-fist to the face. Mo was out on his feet, tipping over like a tree in the woods. Referee Rob Hinds immediately called for the fight upon seeing Mo fall into Newton's arms on the mat.

Throughout the first round, Mo left himself exposed by repeatedly dropping his hands and not protecting his face. Newton noted in a post-fight interview that when he saw King Mo drop his hands again, he spotted an opening out of the corner of his eye to deliver the back-fist finisher.

Newton, now 20-7-1 during his MMA career, advances to the finals of the tournament. Meanwhile, Mo drops to 9-2-1 in his career.

The fight aired at the top of the second hour of Spike's TV broadcast from the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Prior to the fight, Spike noted that TNA Knockouts referee Taryn Terrell was at the MMA fight card as one of three ring girls.
