TNA Impact on Thursday, February 7 officially scored a 1.03 rating. This was off a first hour 0.94 rating and second hour 1.13 rating.
Impact was hurt by a very slow start in the first hour - none of the quarter-hours reached a 1.0. Impact then jumped to a 1.13 rating to start the second hour. Impact dipped in Q6 and Q7 before closing with a show-high 1.22 rating featuring Sting & Bully Ray in a tables match that was promoted in-advance.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 0.94 rating for Aces & Eights's show-opening promo, specifically Garett Bischoff and Wes Brisco explaining their affiliation with the group. This was followed by one commercial. It was the third straight week where Q1 fell below a 1.0 rating.
Q2: Impact increased slightly to a 0.96 rating for RVD vs. Zema Ion vs. Kenny King in a six-minute X Division Title match, one commercial, and a video package on British Bootcamp.
Q3: Impact increased slightly to a 0.98 rating for various videos and non-wrestling segments before James Storm beat Jessie in a three-minute match. There was also one commercial.
Q4: Impact dipped to a show-low 0.88 rating for two full commercial breaks and the first few minutes of the TNA Tag Title match.
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact jumped to a 1.13 rating for a new wave of viewers tuning in to see the end of Roode & Aries capturing the Tag Titles from Chavo & Hernandez, a backstage skit with the Hogans, and one full commercial.
Q6: Impact dipped to a 1.07 rating for this week's Knockouts match of Tara vs. Miss Tessmacher, a video package on A.J. Styles's poor 2012, and one commercial.
Q7: Impact stayed about the same with a 1.08 rating for JB introducing Bootcamp winner Rockstar Spud, one commercial, and introductions for the main event.
Q8: Impact closed with a show-high 1.22 rating for Sting & Bully defeating Aces & Eights in a tables match, plus one mid-match commercial.
Caldwell's Analysis: Three things confirmed - Bully Ray continues to attract an audience, Sting still has value if placed in a protected role, and TNA can draw a number if they promote big stars in big matches in-advance.
