TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles is buying what TNA management might be selling in 2010 on a second Monday Night Wars against WWE. Styles said he believes the promotion is in position to compete with WWE for viewers on Monday nights.

"Absolutely. One day it will happen, there's no doubt about it. I know we can run with them," Styles told Jason Dattilo of 91.3 SportFM in Australia.

Styles is part of the current group of top young stars in TNA who grew up in the late '90s era watching WWE vs. WCW while starting to entertain the idea of becoming a wrestler. Styles made his pro wrestling debut in 1998 at the peak of the Monday Night Wars and wants to be part of the next group of challengers to WWE.

TNA president Dixie Carter has developed a mindset in TNA to keep chasing the "next dangling carrot." Up next is competing against WWE. Carter wasn't involved in the wrestling business during the era, but TNA management is loaded with MNW-era veterans who are in Carter's ear that TNA should compete with WWE. Styles also talked about his wish list of WWE stars he would like to see in TNA, including Rey Mysterio, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Christian (again), and Evan Bourne. Styles said Mysterio would be a good fit in TNA being able to wrestle the style of match that Styles grew up watching him wrestle in WCW.
