TNA News: Hulk Hogan talks about his role in TNA during Jimmy Fallon appearance on NBC (w/VIDEOS) Oct 29, 2009 - 9:15:29 AM
Hulk Hogan briefly mentioned his return to pro wrestling with TNA during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's late night show on NBC last night (early this morning). Hogan said he's not committed to wrestling for TNA, but he hinted he will take an "agent" role behind-the-scenes while also being the face of TNA to help create a second major promotion alongside WWE.
Hogan did not mention his debut on TNA Impact scheduled for tonight. Hogan also suggested WWE is the only major player in the wrestling business, ignoring TNA's four-year run on Spike TV with a nationally-televised TV program.
TNA hasn't drawn the ratings or PPV buys at WWE's level, but Hogan was making statements more fit for 2005 when talent did not have a clear choice on where else they could work besides WWE. Four years ago, Christian was the first big-name wrestler to tell talent "it was okay" to switch from WWE to TNA. Hogan is now saying he will create a choice for talent and fans by aligning with TNA.
"I'm going to Australia for a couple of days to get the old sea legs back and get the old yellow boots (on). But, when I come back - ya know I've been watching what's going on and there's only one company and there's no choices for the fans and the talent," Hogan said. "And I said, 'I know a lot about this business and I want to give everybody a choice again.' So I hooked up with TNA and I don't know what's going to happen, but I know just a little bit about this business so it's going to be cool to get back in there and talk to these young guys about theory and the art form and get them back on track with this thing."
The first clip below is of Hogan talking wrestling with the quotes in the paragraph above. The second clip is Hogan talking about his personal life to promote his new book.
