TNA News: Jeff Jarrett launching personal TNA DVD - massive collection; very rare footage Jan 9, 2009 - 1:09:15 PM
Coming April 14, 2008 is a four-disc, 12-hour "Jeff Jarrett: King of the Mountain" DVD chronicling TNA owner Jeff Jarrett's wrestling career.
One of the major items on the massive DVD collection is rare footage from Jarrett's early days, utilizing Jim Cornette's collection of wrestling tapes that he has allowed to be used on the DVD.
Prior to gaining national exposure with WWE in the early 1990s as a country music singer, Jarrett wrestled for his father, TNA founder Jerry Jarrett, in the Continental Wrestling Association during the late 1980s.
He also wrestled for Jerry's USWA promotion in Texas after Jerry bought out the Von Erich's World Class Championship Wrestling promotion and merged it with the CWA.
The TNA DVD will include Jarrett's "best TNA matches and moments, a lengthy and candid sitdown interview on his life, career and TNA Wrestling, rare photos, and guest commentary."
Wow - this Ric Flair wanna-be is going to try get all three of his fans to
buy a four-disc set? The amound of ego is astounding.

4 Discs?!?! This is so ridiculous. Especially considering even if there
was a demand for such a set it is not going to include any of his work in
the WWE or WCW. Maybe David Arquette will be one of the special guests,
and they can discuss there classic angle in WCW. The only way this could
be any good is if it is titled "Slap Nuts: The Jeff Jarrett Anthology".

12 hours? I can't imagine wanting to see 12 hours of Jeff Jarrett even if
it included footage from his WWF and WCW days let alone without it.

And just for the sake of context.
Amazon has the Ric Flair DVD at 3-discs and about 11 hours. Shawn Michaels,
The Rock, Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan all have 3-discs with about 9 hours
of footage. And Triple H has 2-discs with about 6 hours. The Jarrett DVD
will be bigger than all of those and feature a complete blackout of footage
of almost a decade (1993-2001) because everything Jarrett did in that time
frame is owned by the WWE. It's just mind blowing.

Has Jarrett ever done anything worth remembering? I can't think of one
thing. Total waste of money.
I have to meet the one retard who buys this.
Maybe it comes with a bonus bag of powder.

If you read the whole thing, it's not only TNA footage, but footage from
his career prior to working in WWF. He has wrestled since 1987 and it
wasn't until very late-1993 that he went to WWF. Even during his time in
Stamford, he wrestled for Jerry Lawler's USWA and held that promotions
Heavyweight title on multiple occasions.

Bob Barnett,
Glad to meet you! I am at least one of the "retards" (just charming
terminology, by the way) who will very happily buy this when I am able.

No ur not retarded, just way too easily entertained. I have a 6-dvd set of
paint drying that could RIVET you. 12 hours without wwe and wcw footage?
does wwe own the uswa tape library? jesus christ folks 12 hours to jeff
jarrett? the secret must be its just one match that FEELS like 12 hours. ol
double J couldnt get over in wwe, couldnt get over in wcw (but russo loved
him) and tna has gotten its best ratings ever WITHOUT HIM ON TV. unless you
speak with a southern twang 99% of people think he is a self glorified
legend wanna-be. 12 hours with 9 hours of him in his "prime" missing. This
is a sign of the end times.

I have absolutely no idea who owns the USWA tape library - I can vaguely
remember its ownership being a legal minefield at one point though and I'm
not sure if that's still the case. Its entirely possible that the WWE owns
at least part of the library though, God knows they own just about
everything else at this point. But none of Jarrett's work in the USWA is
going to make a 12 hour DVD devoted to him any better.
It truly amazes me that Ric Flair's career can be contained in a 3-disc set
but TNA don't believe they can do the same with Jarrett's career despite
the fact they're going be missing nearly a decade of his career (at least).
What exactly are they going to put on this? Even including WWE and WCW
footage I don't think I could find 12 hours of qaulity Jeff Jarrett
entertainmnet.

I'd really like to know how they can have anything from Jim or Jerry since
Jim's footage was sold to WWE years ago and Jerry Jarret's was sold to
Jerry Lawler

To be fair, Ric Flair has received 3 individual multi-disc sets by now.
But yeah, putting together a four disc set of before-your-prime and
past-your-prime footage seems a little egomaniacal.

piece of crap John Cena........the worst wrestler in history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"all of you morons that bash Jarrett are the same ones that like that big

history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Wrong, Bozo. Cena blows chunks, as do 95% of the WWE clowns. But Jarrett
may have set the standard for not being over as a main eventer

Thank you to everyone for voicing your hatred for Jeff Jarrett. I truly
enjoyed myself for a total of 4 minutes which is exactly how long the DVD
set should be. They might as well change the name of TNA to JJW-ATOG
(short for Jeff Jarrett Wrestling And Them Other Guys).
As a wrestling fan and "entertainment" fan I have never woke up the next
day and thought "Man, that Jeff Jarrett match was amazing!" or asked anyone
"hey did you see that Jeff Jarrett match? ain't he great?"
Screw Jeff Jarrett. He could probably get more attention by getting a job
as a nut slapper.
