ROH TV Taping Results
June 20, 2015
New York City
Report by VIP member Tyler Blue

In total, Ring of Honor taped four full shows plus an eight-man tag match that will be used for their 200th episode. Since the eight-man match was the only match recorded for the 200th episode I’d speculate that the rest of the show might be a celebration of the past, but that's just a guess.

There was also the dark match of Samoa Joe in his final ROH appearance teaming with A.J. Styles to take on The Addiction. The attendance is tough to judge due to the GA Balcony areas, but I would say that it was just shy of a sell-out at the Terminal 5 venue.

Episode 1

(1) Dalton Castle beat Watanabe via pinfall. Castle is awesome and his act was super-over with this crowd. Castle cut a short promo.

The newly crowned World and TV Champion Jay Lethal and the house of Truth came to the ring to a waiting Nigel McGuiness. After a Truth Martini promo, Nigel asked Lethal if he had given any thought to which title he would vacate because the titles are separate entities and would need to be defended separately. Lethal responded that he will not be giving up anything and will defend both titles in one night if he has to because he is that good.

(2) ReDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) & Michael Elgin beat The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Michael Bennett & Adam Cole) in a six-man tag match. Awesome match with tons of feats of strength from Elgin. Redragon won via Chasing the Dragon on Cole, who teased splitting from The Kingdom.

Episode 2

(1) Matt Sydal beat Adam Page (w/The Decade) via Shooting Star Press. After the match, The Decade attacked Sydal, then A.C.H. came to the ring for the save, but Page piledrove Sydal onto a pile of chairs. A.C.H. cut a promo saying at Death Before Dishonor Page will regret the day he pissed off A.C.H.

Veda Scott cut a promo on Moose not making it in football, saying that he won't make it in wrestling, either.

(2) Will Ferrara beat Silas Young via roll-up.

(3) ROH TV champion Jay Lethal beat Mark Briscoe to retain the TV Title. Lethal won via Lethal Injection. Lots of interference from the House of Truth as well as involvement from Jay Briscoe, ODB, and even Roderick Strong. They set up an eight-man tag match for the 200th episode.

Episode 3

(1) Young Bucks beat War Machine. Nick Jackson faked an injury early in the match and everyone in the place fell for it. A.J. Styles came down to the ring to check on him and eventually to replace him. Later in the match Nick Jackson sprang back to life completely unharmed and joined in. A.J. then won via Styles Clash for the pinfall on Ray Rowe.

(2) Cedric Alexander beat Romantic Touch via some kind of backbreaker. Veda told him to remove Touch's mask, but Moose made the save.

(3) Adam Cole vs. Kyle O'Reilly turned into...

(3b) Kyle O'Reilly & Adam Cole beat ROH tag champions Christopher Daniels & Kazarian in a non-title match. Cole pinned Daniels via roll-up. Cole, O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish stood tall in the ring to chants of "NEW REDRAGON."

Episode 4

(1) The Kingdom won a basic tag match.

(2) Moose won a six-way match also involving Brutal Bob, Cheeseburger, Silas Young, Caprice Coleman, and Dalton Castle. He got the pin on Brutal Bob following a monster spear.

B.J. Whitmer came out to some intense heat; the crowd just did not want to hear anything that he had to say. The promo advanced the Colby Corino storyline - Steve Corino left commentary to get in the ring and confront Whitmer.

(3) Bobby Fish beat A.C.H. Great match. Fish won via top-rope butterfly suplex.

Episode 5 (200th Episode)

(1) Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe & Roderick Strong & ODB beat House of Truth (ROH champion Jay Lethal & J. Diesel & Donovan Dijak & Truth Martini) in an eight-person tag match. Very good match. ODB got the pinfall on Truth Martini as the remaining competitors brawled on the outside.

Dark Main Event: Samoa Joe & A.J. Styles beat The Addiction (Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) in a non-title match. Even after many many hours of TV tapings, the crowd was alive and roaring to send Joe off with a bang. Fantastic match with so many great spots. Styles got the pinfall following a Styles Clash. (They were recording the match so hopefully it gets released at some point.)

After the match the four men involved had their own moment reminiscent of the "curtain call" as they all embraced in the center of the ring to chants of "thank you, Joe." The entire locker room then came down and surrounded the ring as Joe took to the mic with an emotional "Thank You" speech to the ROH fans.

Overall, a fantastic night of wrestling. In all it ran from 7:00 p.m. until midnight so that was a very long time to watch wrestling but that fact that the crowd was still absolutely into it down to the final match is a testament to the quality of the product that ROH is currently producing.
