ROH PPV News & Notes

-- Jay Lethal is the new ROH World champion. Lethal won his first ROH World Title by defeating Jay Briscoe in a near-30-minute main event to cap off the "Best in the World" PPV.

Lethal won with a combination of Briscoe's Jaydriller finisher and his Lethal Injection finisher to secure a clean three count for the win. Lethal and Briscoe shook hands after the match to cap their bitter rivalry.

-- Roderick Strong won a #1 contender match over Moose and Michael Elgin to presumably be the first challenger to Jay Lethal.

ROH announced that the presumed Lethal vs. Strong title match will take place at the "Death Before Dishonor" Internet PPV on July 24 from Baltimore.

-- ROH announced that New Japan's top stars are returning to the U.S. for shows on August 21 in Philadelphia and Aug. 22 in Brooklyn, N.Y., which is the day before WWE's Summerslam PPV in Brooklyn.

-- In the other title match of the show, The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) retained the ROH Tag Titles against ReDragon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish).

-- In six-man tag action, the Bullet Club and The Kingdom locked up again. The combination of A.J. Styles and The Young Bucks beat Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, and Adam Cole in the match. Afterward, Bennett sold frustration toward Cole over Maria being knocked out during the match, teasing a potential rift.

-- ROH pulled off a double turn with Moose transitioning to a face role and Cedric Alexander turning heel to join Moose's former advisor, Veda Scott.
