Kevin Nash News
-- January 16: Kevin Nash is now scheduled for the "Legends Reunion" edition of Raw on Monday. WWE added Nash back to the line-up of big names that includes Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Scott Hall.
-- January 15: WWE Issued a statement that Kevin Nash's Legends contract has been reinstated: "Now that Kevin Nash’s legal matter has been resolved with all charges being dropped, his “legends” contract has been immediately reinstated."
WWE did not say whether Nash is now booked for Monday's "Legends Reunion" edition of Raw. Nash was originally advertised for the show prior to the domestic incident involving his son on Christmas Eve.
-- January 15: Local officials determined that Kevin Nash was not the "primary aggressor" in the domestic incident involving his son, Tristen, on Christmas Eve, which is why battery charges were dropped against Kevin. However, "the investigation into the case of Mr. Tristen Nash is still ongoing at this time," according to the State Attorney's office in Florida. [ Daytona Beach News-Journal Report ]
Nash's attorney told TMZ that Nash is glad the charges were dropped "because of his career with the WWE and his potential induction into the Hall of Fame." Attorney Michael Politis added, "He didn't want to be placed in the same category as - for example - the NFL player who punched his wife in the elevator." [ TMZ Report ]
WWE suspended Kevin's Legends contract per their policy to suspend anyone involved in a domestic violence incident. Nash was initially booked for the "Legends Reunion" edition of Raw on January 19, but was removed from advertising following the arrest and suspension.
Interestingly, Shawn Michaels replied to Nash on Twitter that perhaps Nash will be on Raw after the charges were dropped: "Then I'll see you Monday...if I gotta go, you gotta go!!!"
-- January 14: Kevin Nash says all charges in his family's Christmas Eve domestic dispute have been dropped. "To those that have sent you're love and support words can not express what you mean to me. As of 3:30 p.m. EST all charges have been dropped," Nash tweeted Wednesday afternoon. Nash and his son, Tristen, were both booked on battery charges following a late-night incident at Nash's home on December 23/24.
-- January 14: Kevin Nash suggested that he will not be back on WWE TV after his Legends contract was suspended. "I don't see after my suspension, Kevin Nash returning to WWE programming," Nash tweeted in a late-night post.
Nash was originally booked for the "Legends Reunion" edition of Raw on Jan. 19. However, he was scratched after his contract was suspended following a Christmas Eve incident involving his son, consistent with WWE's domestic violence policy. Kevin was arrested along with his son, but the family's attorney blamed Tristen for the incident.
-- December 27: Kevin Nash was replaced by Mick Foley at a Maryland Championship Wrestling show in Joppa, Md. Nash was scratched due to a "family emergency," according to the promoters.
-- December 26: CNN picked up the story of Kevin Nash and his son, Tristen, jailed following a domestic violence incident in Florida. Also, WWE offered a statement distancing the company from Nash until the issue is resolved.
WWE stated: "Kevin Nash has not regularly performed for WWE since January 2004. He is currently under a non-wrestling 'legends' contract which has been immediately suspended until this domestic dispute is resolved." According to the family's attorney, they expect a "resolution in the next couple of months."
Timeline of Events
-- Tuesday night/Wed. morning (Dec. 23/24): Tristen came home drunk. There was a dispute with Kevin that centered on Tristen being drunk and Tristen's girlfriend.
According to Tristen to police, Kevin threw him down by the neck and lay across his chest during the dispute. Tristen says he temporarily blacked out.
According to Kevin, Tristen started a physical dispute by spitting on him and striking him with his shoulder and elbow. Kevin said he wrestled Tristen to the ground, but to protect his wife from his son. Kevin says he got the scratches on his face during the tussle. Tristen also said Kevin got the scratches when he grabbed Kevin's face to try to break his grip.
Kevin's wife, Tamara, initially said she did not see the fight, as she was upstairs. However, when Kevin was charged with domestic battery, Tamara said that she knew Tristen attacked Kevin.
-- After Kevin was booked on domestic battery, police say they were called back to the residence on a 911 call.
According to police, Tristen fought with Tamara and his uncle after Kevin was jailed. Tristen was then arrested on a battery charge.
-- After both Kevin and Tristen were jailed, the family lawyer, Michael J. Politis, said in a statement: "The kid was out of control, and the father was defending his wife. I'm pretty confident we will have a resolution in the next couple of months."
