DGUSA News: Dragon Gate USA announces top talent from ROH for second show, new main event match for debut show Jun 18, 2009 - 9:15:50 AM
-- Dragon Gate USA announced today they have added Ring of Honor wrestlers Bryan Danielson and Davey Richards to the roster for the promotion's second official show in Chicago on September 6.
DGUSA is positioning itself as a future challenger to ROH for market share in the "third tier" of national wrestling promotions behind WWE and TNA.
The promotion announced yesterday they will be airing their bi-monthly shows on PPV after partnering with ROH's former PPV partner, G-Funk.
Now, they have added one legendary ROH wrestler, Bryan Danielson, and one future ROH main eventer, Davey Richards, to the roster.
DGUSA also has the up-and-coming Young Bucks tag team on the roster for the July 25 debut show in Philadelphia. The Young Bucks debuted in ROH this past weekend in Manassas, Va. and New York City to strong reviews.
-- The other announcement made today by DGUSA was a second main event to the July 25 show. Open The Dream Gate champion Naruki Doi will face Shingo in a non-title match. The current card is as follows:
Main Event #1 - Dragon Kid vs. Masato Yoshino
Main Event #2 - Naruki Doi vs. Shingo
Tag Team Challenge - CIMA & Susumu Yokosuka vs. The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson)
CHIKARA eight-man tag match
