Other News: The Rock vs. John Cena once again; Dwayne Johnson tabbed for major award show presentation Jan 9, 2009 - 12:32:54 PM
WWE Studios and John Cena's "12 Rounds" movie opens on Friday, March 27 - one weekend prior to WrestleMania 25 in Houston. On Saturday, March 28, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will host the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, going right after Cena's target demographic.
Johnson will be promoting the release of his new kids-themed sci-fi movie, "Race to Witch Mountain," which opens on March 13.
"Dwayne is a pop culture icon and a Kids' Choice veteran who has been a presenter and a nominee for Favorite Male Movie Star," said an executive VP for Nickelodeon in a press release. "Our audience loves him."
Johnson said in the release that the best way for him to honor the opinions of the kids is to lead "millions of kids into total chaos, crazy fun, and endless buckets of slime!"
How the fuck is this John Cena vs. The Rock again? You're an idiot,
Caldwell.

Witch Mountain is Disney, my guess is it will likely clobber WWE at the box
office, regardless the quality of either film. Actually, that Witch
Mountain trailer looks pretty good.

Normally I'm willing to put up with the tabloid-like swill on this site,
but ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? I just looked up the synopsis of "12 Rounds,"
and you're telling me that this PG-13 crime drama is aimed at the same
demographic as The Rock's "Witch Mountain" movie and the Kids Choice
Awards?! Again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Also, they're in competition because
they're coming out 2 weeks apart?! Most movies drop out of the top 5 by
their third week in theaters, and clearly 12 Rounds does not look like the
kind of movie the 8 year olds who watch Nickelodeon and would enjoy a
Disney family movie would enjoy. There is no competition here.
Way to make a story out of nothing... god damn...

Oh Caldwell! You punk'd me again! I thought it was a rumor about WM 25.
Instead it's about two movies that I'll probably torrent at a future date.
Those two won't be getting my movie dollars.
