Radio Review: Bobby Heenan
Show: KiddChris Show
Station: 93.7 FM KXOA in Sacramento, Calif.
Date: July 31, 2002
Host: KiddChris
Report by A.M.B., PWTorch.com correspondent

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan was a guest Tuesday night on The KiddChris Show, broadcast on 93-7 FM KXOA in Sacramento. Heenan's speech was slurred because of his recent surgery, but he was in good spirits and alert.

Heenan started off saying that he felt good and that everybody has to die eventually. When asked about his relationships with certain wrestlers he managed, The Brain said he loved working with Mr. Perfect, but hated Rick Rude. "Rude was under the assumption that I was stealing his heat" said Heenan. Bobby said that what Rude didn't understand was that he could steal Rude's heat anytime he wanted but never did.

When asked about other wrestlers from that time-frame, Heenan said that Ultimate Warrior did not like him. He said that the Warrior should have never been in the wrestling business because he had no wrestling skill or respect. He told a story about a time Rude was wrestling the Warrior, and Heenan worked a spot out with the Warrior. He told the Warrior not to clothesline him, because he had a bad neck, and instead gave him a different situation where Heenan would get punched and fall. Warrior clotheslined him anyway. He said that Warrior did that because he didn't respect anybody and didn't care. When KiddChris asked if 75 percent of a wrestler's job is protecting the other guy, Heenan said, "No, 100 percent is."

When asked about Jake Roberts, Heenan said Jake is weak man who let himself be eaten up by devils and had too much too soon.

Heenan thinks the wrestling business is done because of the lack of competition.

Heenan thinks Vince only hired Eric Bischoff so that he could ruin him. He said that Bischoff once told Heenan and Gene Okerlund that he wanted to put a stake in Vince's heart again and again. Now Heenan thinks Vince is sharpening the knife on Bischoff.

Heenan said that he "hated" Bischoff and that Bischoff was a "piece of shit." Even though Bischoff gave Heenan three contracts and two raises, he wouldn't speak to "The Brain." When Heenan joined Bischoff he asked Bischoff to go to the bar with him and have a few drinks because he said, "I have 30 years in the business and might be able to help out." Bischoff told him, "I'm not really a friendly guy and I don't like to get to know people." Unbelievable. Bobby said that Bischoff is a mark and that a wrestling company has never been killed by wrestlers, its been killed by wanna-bes. "If Bischoff was a woman, he'd be a (ring) rat."

Heenan joined WCW because he was tired of the travelling in the WWF. He was tired of the days on the road and he was also producing the interview segments and was just burned out.

When asked about Tony Schiavone, Heenan said he was "a pig." Schiavone "knew the end was coming but wouldn't tell anybody and wouldn't even talk to me." He says that Schiavone is not a good man, did not like wrestling and did not like wrestlers. He said that Schiavone thought he was a great baseball announcer, but Heenan said anybody can call a "fast ball at thirty miles an hour in the minor leagues."

Awesome interview. Heenan closed by saying that he really is impressed by Brock Lesnar and The Rock. His new book goes to the dealers on August 1 and should be on sale everywhere by August 28! "It's going to be like riding in the car with me"
