Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES

Welcome back! Lots of big indy news!

We’ll start with FIP, in action for the first time in months, where Roderick Strong regained the FIP heavyweight title by defeating Erick Stevens … via countout! Yes, a rare time a title changed hands by countout. Nigel McGuinness also beat Necro Butcher on the show.

In IWC in Pittsburgh, Raven teamed up with IWC champion Sandman, and they defeated the team of Khosrow Daivari & Dennis Gregory. Also on that show were Jerry Lynn, Delirious, Human Tornado, Matt Cross and Ricky Reyes. Results are below.

Over in Jersey All Pro, Hernandez & Homicide defeated Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin in the main event. More footage for “The Wrestler” movie was filmed during this show. The movie will star Mickey Rourke (“Sin City,” “Nine and a half weeks”) and Marissa Tomei. The movie also will be shooting footage at upcoming ROH events. JAPW boasted a crowd topping 1,000.

And from the “Where are they now?” files, Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake defeated Sal Sincere in Union, N.J., on Friday, for National Wrestling Superstars.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
