GUEST EDITORIAL
By P. Cali of Hoover, Ala., PWTorch.com reader

This past Monday Night Raw may have set the stage for the freshest upcoming edition of Raw since the guest host concept kicked off. With many good hopes and wishes, the Raw leading into the Pay-Per-View could be the first time that a guest host is a true heel and can make some changes that will affect the main event of Summerslam, the Raw roster, and the well-being of Raw's top face, John Cena.

In a nutshell, Jeremy Piven gave a current angle a "definitive" ending, and opened the door for possibly the most unseen and horrific new beginning of the exact same angle...exit "Awesome Miz," enter "The Untouchable, Unstoppable Miz!"

Once Miz's Hollywood credentials were spelled out in the center of the ring, his nemesis John Cena's hand was raised high in victory, the crowd on hand was hyped and excitingly vocal about his banishment, and the Internet lit up in disbelief and dismay that Raw's heir apparent next top heel was sent packing, it was evident that just enough people cared about The Miz for the big plan to work.

How about this? Special Guest host week before Summerslam...The Miz! Not only would he be the entertaining host of all hosts, he would reinstate himself (obviously), stack the deck heavily against Cena, and probably implement himself into the main event of Summerslam as a special referee guaranteeing that Cena won't get the belt and we won't get the same Cena-Orton formula that we're used to seeing on Raw or Pay-Per-View. This should equate to a higher buyrate for Summerslam, an exciting pre-and-post Raw, and establish The Untouchable, Unstoppable Miz as a major player in the top echelon of the Raw Roster.

This could also work in a co-host swerve where the Hollywood guest on the Raw before Summerslam is a friend of The Miz and would transfer his or her power to him at the top of the show. To make that even better, soon after The Miz obtains the true and total power of the show, he could quickly dismiss his friend with a punch in the gut and a kick to the head. This is the kind of despicable act that could put The Miz on par with the notoriety that HBK received form kicking Marty Jannetty through a window.

What would make either of these scenarios even better is if WWE creative chose to think that far in advance to reward The Miz for his stellar mic and in-ring work and also the way he took his burying on the Raw brand like a man. As a long-term fan, it is so pleasing to find out the star that was just created was a product of long-term planning, patience, persistence, and not a mistake.

This is all wishful thinking, highly improbable, but within the realm of possibility.
