This past Monday on Raw Randy Orton said some interesting things. Now Randy's character as of late has been fantastic. It fits with his "me, me, me" attitude that made him the top heel on Raw. Last night he continued with that; he asked that the fans to not vote for him.

Now this was perfect because in all honesty the fans wouldn't vote for him at all, especially over Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, and the voting for Cyber Sunday is incredibly fixed so it wouldn't matter anyway. Basically, Randy is setting up his loss of being the special ref for the title match as a result of his requests of the people to simply not vote for him.

Then Orton said something that in my mind was hilarious, and potentially disastrous for the WWE, he said "or simply don't vote." When you think about it, Orton makes perfect sense.

Cyber Sunday has always been a waste of time PPV in the WWE. Most of the matches have seemingly fixed voting systems. I am not saying they are fixed, but they sure do give off the impression. Nothing ever exciting happens other than an appearance by a past superstar (like Austin) to remind us how bad WWE has gotten, and a title change at the event is as rare as a decent Great Khali match. The one thing that they had going for it was the online voting and perceived fan interaction. But that has changed, hasn't it?

Now WWE wants you to text in your votes, charging you 99 cents a vote and in very small print; standard messaging fees apply. Well, let's do some math:

So far there are five matches announced for Cyber Sunday. It is safe to assume that there are at least one or two more to come with the ECW Title and one set of tag titles possibly being defended. 7 x .99 = $6.93 + your messaging fees. That makes this PPV more expensive than Summerslam, The Survivor Series, and The Royal Rumble.

Why do I have to pay to vote for which Kane and Rey Mysterio are going to have. Isn't a match that is deemed Falls Count Anywhere really the same match in essence as a No Holds Barred match? I mean, I don't remember the last time anyone got DQ'd in a Falls Count Anywhere match for using a chair.

Why do I have to pay to vote for which a special guest referee will call the Jericho vs. Batista match? I already know that no matter what, Austin will be the ref. Even if Randy Orton or HBK get more votes, I don't see any way way that Austin won't be fixed into being the ref one way or another.

You see, it doesn't make sense at all. Cyber Sunday is no more expensive than three out of the big four. That seems kind of unfair to us fans. Why do we have to pay to vote? I know the economy is bad, but I don't have to pay to vote Nov.r 4, 2008, so I shouldn't have to pay to vote for a third rate (yes, one of the only third rate) PPVs the WWE and the world of professional wrestling as a whole produces.

Randy Orton was right, simply don't vote. In fact, it should be more like "Simply Don't Buy." Maybe then Vince and company will hear our voices (or lack there of) that we are sick of this sub par product they are putting on.
