4/1 NEWS: Santino Marella to host new variety show on USA Network following Raw on Mondays Apr 1, 2008 - 1:50:15 PM
WWE announced today that Raw Superstar Santino Marella will be hosting a new variety show following Monday Night War each week on the USA Network.
"This follows in the tradition of such shows as Tuesday Night Titans," said WWE Chairman,Vince McMahon. "For those who are too young to remember, it was also a variety talk show with a mix of 'Saturday Night Live' and 'The Tonight Show' and did rather well for us."
But why pick Santino Marella to be the host? "Well," Vince laughs, "he has a unique personality that I think translates to everyone." "He's just very entertaining," he added.
Santino had a somewhat more grandiose explanation. "I am Santino Marella, the greatest overcross celebrity star in the history of the WWE."
Asked who would be featured on the show, Santino commented, "Everyone want-a to be on the-a Santino Show on the Network of the U-S-A," apparently naming the show for WWE.
So, has anyone been invited yet? "No," says Santino, "because everybody will-a call me and beg me for them to be on. But not Snoopy-the Dogg. I don't like him. I don't wan the rabbies like Maria"
What about his former girlfriend, Maria? "Only if she-a grovels and begs, showing me proper respect. Us bloody full Italians demand respect from our women."
Marella goes on to tell us he welcomes any WWE Superstar to the show as long as they behave themselves. "There will be no knocking down and dragging out fights on my show," proclaims Santino. "This is not-a about that." He especially will keep off "Jerry the stupid King Lawler."
"I want to see-a different folks, folks milking with the jugglers and magic men and those playing the poker," he adds.
