Bad Music for Bad People
The Audio Experience Variety Review Show
11 March 2008

Preface: The DEJ Audio Experience is only two weeks away from traveling down to Orlando to catch both Ring of Honor shows and Wrestlemania for a fun weekend filled with more wrestling than one should ingest in a three day period. Instead of not hyping a large event, like TNA just did this past Impact by not mentioning their first live show on March 27th, I have decided to start talking about the goings on that we will bring to you in close to real time from Orlando. Next week, I’ll provide to you some insight as to what we covered last year from Detroit. For the time being though, I give you the weekly chronicling of the show.

- Introduction about Dusty’s new job and the possible uses of his authority as a loan officer.

TNA News

A. Destination X
1. They don’t think the pay per view is newsworthy but then they talk about it. It sounded like it was better than No Way Out but still didn’t sound outstanding.

WWE News

A. MVP
1. He qualified for the Money in the Bank match over the weekend. Matt Hardy returned to the ring and even did a run in for that match. They figured that Matt would have won the title back at Wrestlemania. Jeremy and Dusty think that he’ll either win it on Smackdown or at Backlash. It’s a bad week to be a Hardy.

B. Lita
1. She got a new tattoo, but then was hospitalized and has been known to be drinking too much during the Luchagors shows.
2. Jeremy wonders who sold more albums, Hold For Swank or the Luchagors. Dusty thinks that it’s Hold For Swank because of their appearances on The Bad Girls Club. (DiFrango’s Edit: For those of you not in the know, Eric “E” Nelson is in Hold for Swank, a band that has its roots set in Iowa but will be traveling around the country soon. Check out their Myspace page Hold for Swank

C. Jeff Hardy
1. He has been suspended for sixty days because of the Wellness Policy.
2. Jeff will never be trusted again and is stuck as a mid-carder even if he stays sober for ten straight years. He got clean by himself but needs to go to a rehab center since he refused the first time he was suspended. Jeremy suggests using Jake Roberts as an example for consistently using drugs and how awful addiction can be. Dusty thinks that Jeff Hardy could end up as another dead wrestler if he doesn’t seek help.
3. You can’t get on the WWE’s any case anymore for not pushing Hardy into the championship because they probably knew something was going on.

D. Floyd Mayweather and the Big Show
1. Dusty’s first impression was how good Big Show was on the mic. Jeremy thinks that it was his best promo ever.
2. They talk about how crazy Mayweather is for keeping that much cash in his house.
3. Dusty and Jeremy were happy that the WWE finally made Mayweather the heel and Big Show the face. They mention that it was good of Floyd in his role by not acknowledging the crowd’s “What?” chant. Dusty wouldn’t be enticed to buy the pay per view based on the weird hype for this match, whatever form it may take. They liked how Mayweather sold his elbow injury. Dusty and Jeremy then argue with a non-existent Eric about the safety of the toss of Mayweather out of the ring. (DiFrango’s Edit: Overall, the hype for Wrestlemania is when the WWE does their best work. The writing staff has been dropping the ball a lot this year and keeping Mayweather face for this long is the prime example.)

E. Iron Sheik
1. He went on a tirade and ended it by saying that Hulk Hogan was a ‘f*gg*t.’ Mike Adamle was conducting the interview. Nikolai Volkoff cut a good basic wrestling promo. The Iron Sheik then launched into “business for himself” as Jeremy put it. Mike Adamle was stifling laughs when the camera panned out. Nikolai was then asked if he got a word in edge wise around the Iron Sheik and he said no. The WWE had a disclaimer before the segment online and even had a sign that said “He’s crazy” under the Iron Sheik.
2. Dusty talks about Jim Ross’ real hatred for the Iron Sheik. He goes on to talk about how Ross ran him down during the NWA Main Event when the Sheik was in squash matches.

AWA Wrestling

1. Jeremy asks Dusty whether he’s seen AWA on ESPN Classic at all. Dusty hasn’t so Jeremy proceeds to fill him in on the product. It’s interesting to see Scott Hall, Curt Henning, Shawn Michaels and Sherri Martel when they were young. The jobbers look like they’ve been taken off the streets and paid for their first appearance. It was odd to see to see someone as well touted as Nick Bockwinkle selling for these average joes. (DiFrango’s Edit: I just can’t convince myself to watch any more after catching two episodes. It’s brutal to watch. I’d love to have a side by side comparison of what was happening in the then WWF. I know I watched Superstars on a regular basis on Saturday mornings but don’t remember if the product was this bad.)

WWE News, Again

A. Chris Harris
1. He made his first appearance in a WWE match during a dark match before the ECW and Smackdown tapings. Harris lost to Shelton Benjamin.

B. Test and Monty Brown
1. He will be wrestling in Lima, Ohio at the UAW Hall for the Global Wrestling Alliance. Test is a huge draw in Lima. (DiFrango’s Edit: This comment was uttered with sarcasm dripping off of it.)
2. Monty Brown hasn’t officially retired still even though he’s gone from wrestling. He does frequently update his Myspace page. The WWE did a poor job promoting him when he came over from TNA. You can’t count on people to notice someone from TNA so you should build them up first.

American Idol

Dusty starts the annual talk of American Idol contestants since they’re done to the final twelve. Carly Smithson and Kristy Lee Cook have both had record contracts prior to their appearances on the show. Dusty and Jeremy start talk about the contestants individually. Amanda Overmyer gets run down immediately by the dynamic duo. One of her ex-boyfriends is shopping around nude photos to the tabloids to get the highest price. Jeremy’s friendly advice to any female fans, don’t let your boyfriend, fiancée or husband take lewd photos because we will use them for our benefit at some point. Dusty’s favorite girl is the next contestant, Brooke White. Carly Smithson is one of the ringers and has a Lita-esque tattoo on her right arm. Chikezie gets a no sell because of how boring he is. They talk about how heavy set black men get turned into pimps by the American Idol fashion designers. Dusty’s favorite male contestant is Jason Castro because he’s a down to earth guy. David Hernandez was on the chopping block this week so who cares. David Cook is the next in the opinion wheel and gets nailed as clown because he tries to use words that are too big for his lack of intelligence. David Archuleta gets a pass from Jeremy but then Dusty drags a barely opinion out of him. Jeremy then says that a closet will be stepped out of by Mr. Archuleta at some point in his life. Dusty then mentions that he’ll stick around because the little girls love him and the older ladies will think he’s cute. Kristy Lee Cook is the other two time ringer who looks younger than she is. Michael Johns is one of the favorites and is a look alike for Timothy Daly of Wings fame. Ramiele Malubay and Syesha Mercado are both lumped together because they’re both fairly bland and haven’t left an impression on either of them. Jeremy then starts the wrap up by mentioning about how exceptionally useless Paula Abdul has been this year. He also feels like Simon is completely bored this year. Dusty then sets Jeremy up so that they talk over each other. (DiFrango’s Edit: How did you not see that one coming? The new blind governor of New York would have seen that one coming.) Jeremy then talks about how combative and counter productive Ryan Seacrest. They then complain about how the show will officially be dead if Simon does resign as a judge after this year.

- Jeremy then requests more questions for the weekly Ask the Experience? Portion of the DEJ Blog. Dusty thanks SteveMHW for submitting a question to him weekly. The email is theaudioexperience@gmail.com. They talk about pawning of the audio duties on Eric and me for this coming week.

Sports ticker: Kent State is having yet another great year in college basketball and will be playing tonight at 7 PM on ESPN 2 in the MAC Championship game against their main rival Akron. Another fine rivalry will be played tomorrow at 12 PM on NBC, the Philadelphia Flyers will be taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Watch as the Penguins try to wrestle away first place in the Atlantic Division from New Jersey Devils and the Flyers try to keep themselves in a playoff spot.

DiFrango’s Endgame: As you can see, the DEJ Audio Experience doesn’t limit itself to talking about the happenings in the wrestling world. In the VIP section the gurus of wrestling, Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell, dispense enough knowledge on their podcasts that we decided to fill a niche for the comedy aspect of the wrestling business. We try to keep things fresh and off balance for a market of fans that is very particular and hard to please, you the internet fans.

Kevin DiFrango is the creator for the weekly cartoon that appears only on the VIP message board. Keep an eye out for Jeremy's blog tomorrow and our Ask the Experience? blog on Monday or Tuesday. If you feel like you have some ideas to stir into our pot, email me at difrango11@gmail.com
