Bemidji, Minn.
Report by John McLaughlin, PWTorch reader
This was WWE's first time in Bemidji at the Sanford Center. Attendance was about 2,500. Lots of unused ringside seats.
Triple H appeared on the Titantron with the "Are you Ready" gimmick to start the show. Eden Stiles then came out to introduce the first match.
(1) WWE tag champions Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) beat New Day (Big E. & Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods) to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Decent back and forth match until Titus got the hot tag and pinned Big E. with the sit-down powerbomb at about the 12:00 mark.
(2) Sheamus squashed Fandango in 2:00 with the Brogue Kick.
On the Titantron, WWE showed the Warrior award for Connor "The Crusher."
(3) Zack Ryder & Damien Sandow & Curtis Axel beat Bo Dallas & Los Matadores (Diego y Fernando w/El Torito) in a six-man tag match. A comedy match more than anything. El Torito missed a huracanrana on Ryder and got one of the Matadores. Ryder then won with the Rough Ryder.
(4) Cesaro beat Rusev (w/Summer Rae). Good match. Cesaro got the Big Swing in. Late in the match, Rusev set up for his submission when Lana came down and slapped Summer Rae, then ran her into the ringpost. As Rusev was yelling at Lana, Cesaro rolled him up for the pin.
[15-minute Intermission]
(5) Becky Lynch & Charlotte (w/Paige) beat Brie Bella & Alicia Fox. Typical but decent Divas match. "Whoos" for Charlotte's chops and Brie tapped out to Charlotte's figure eight.
(6) Neville beat Stardust. Lots of "Cody" chants aimed at Stardust. Decent action. Neville hit Red Arrow to win at about the 15:00 mark. The Red Arrow is quite impressive live.
(7) WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins beat Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match to retain the WWE World Title. Dean was big-time over with the smaller crowd. Rollins and Ambrose worked together for a few minutes until they started arguing about who was chopping Ambrose harder. Rollins attacked Owens and it turned into a more typical triple threat. Great action after that with all three getting in their spots and "this is awesome" chants for the false finishes. Rollins retained after Owens hit his finisher on Dean, then Seth pulled Owens out of the ring and swooped in and pinned Ambrose.
After the match, Rollins went for the Pedigree on Ambrose, but Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds to send the crowd home happy. Not bad overall, but I heard some disappointed fans complaining because the radio spots advertised Reigns vs. Wyatt, which occurred simultaneously in Fargo, N.D.
