WWE Live show results
July 17, 2015
Newark, N.J. at the Prudential Center
Report by Mike Omansky, PWTorch correspondent

Estimated crowd: 7,000-8,000 range. No return date was announced, but WWE did announce an advanced sale for "NXT: Takeover" in Brooklyn with the pre-sale of NEWARK via Ticketmaster.

The crowd was into the show the entire night...

(1) Neville beat Bo Dallas via pin with the Red Arrow. Fast-paced opener. Neville displayed many flying moves from his reportoire. (**)

(2) Sheamus beat R-Truth with a throat drop on the ropes followed by the Brogue Kick and pin. Faster-paced than you would expect from these two. Good match. (*1/2)

(3) Cesaro beat King Barrett with the Giant Swing and pin. Adequate back-and-forth match. A few good power moves by Cesaro. Overall, slower than the previous two matches. (*)

(4) WWE tag champions Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) beat New Day (Big E. & Xavoer Woods) to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Young pinned Woods with a tilt-a-whirl. There was constant action and multiple successful efforts to get the crowd to chant "New Day Sucks."

(5) U.S. champion John Cena beat Kevin Owens via DQ on a low blow to retain the U.S. Title. Best match of the night that had the intensity of their PPV matches. The match went over 20 minutes and each kicked out of the other’s finisher prior to the end. Very physical match. Owens had many power moves and the crowd was very much into the match. (***1/2)

(6) Paige beat Tamina via roll-up for the pin. Standard, okay Divas match.

(7) Roman Reigns beat Bray Wyatt, turning Sister Abigail into a schoolboy for the pin. The crowd was into this match as well, starting the great Wyatt entrance. Reigns showed some offense in different parts of the match this time out, although Wyatt dominated a bit more. After the match, Wyatt attacked Reigns, and left him lying. The crowd was puzzled for the moment. (**)

(8) WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins beat Dean Ambrose via pinfall in a No DQ Newark Street Fight to retain the WWE World Title. For the finish: Ambrose looked like he was going to win the title; Bray Wyatt ran in and attacked; Sister Abigail. Wyatt then put Rollins across Ambrose for the pin.

Afterward, the heels attacked Ambrose two-on-one until Roman Reigns ran in to make the save. The faces then cleaned house to end the show. Overall, the main event went about 25 minutes. They used tables, chairs, Rollins’s belt from his pants, and even a wooden stick came into play. They pretty much hammered each other most of the time.
