Salt Lake City, Utah
Report by Derrick in Utah

This was the first time they have used the Energy Solutions Arena for a WWE event in many years. It is a larger arena that hosts the NBA’s Utah Jazz. The crowd was sparse; perhaps 2,500 people. The crowd consisted largely of families and younger kids.

(1) Neville beat Heath Slater. Slater used in-match mic work to generate additional heel heat. Neville's presence produced a set of audible NXT chants. Neville won the match with a schoolboy and hit the Red Arrow after fending off a post-match attack from Slater. The crowd loved the Red Arrow.

(2) R-Truth beat Stardust. Stardust faked giving out free merchandise to generate his heel heat. The crowd taunted him with “Cody” chants. I must admit, R-Truth’s act comes across much better at a live event than it does on television. Truth won with his flat-liner move after a basic match.

(3) Lucha Dragons (Kalisto & Sin Cara) beat Los Matadores (Diego & Fernando) and Erick Rowan & Luke Harper in a three-team elimination tag match. The “Lucha, Lucha” chant and dance is over big time with the kids. The timing between the Matadors and the Dragons was off. Matadors were eliminated first after a 3D delivered by Harper and Rowan. The highlight of the match was the exchanges between Kallisto and Harper. The Dragons pinned Harper after Sin Cara hit the Swanton Bomb.

(4) Dean Ambrose beat Kane. This was every Kane and Ambrose match we have seen on WWE television, except slower and much gentler. It was long and pretty bad. Ambrose won with the Dirty Deeds. Ambrose made the rounds around the crowd after the match.

(5) Emma beat Summer Rae. Summer cut a pre-match promo, which Emma answered and then won a basic five-minute match. Emma worked face and Summer played the town jobber...

(6) Alicia Fox beat Summer Rae. ... Summer lost a subsequent match to Alicia Fox.

(7) Sheamus beat Dolph Ziggler. How far down is Ziggler? A heel beat him on a house show. Good effort from both guys and a good match with a number of false finishes. Probably the match of the night. Sheamus won with his pump kick. Ziggler received the post-match appreciation pop.

(8) Roman Reigns beat Big Show in a Street Fight. Reigns was over big with the Utah crowd. His entrance generated quite the buzz in the arena. Little kids and adults alike rushed to the side of the arena where he was set to come down to the ring. The match was actually very good. Show is an underrated house show performer. They teased the table and wrestled a smart, and very well laid out match. Reigns scored the pinfall after a spear.

Loudest Pops:

(1) Roman Reigns
(2) Dean Ambrose
(3) Dolph Ziggler

Most Heat:

(1) Big Show
(2) Sheamus
(3) Kane
