WWE Live show results
May 22, 2015
Manchester, N.H. at Verizon Wireless Arena
Report by Charles Goulet, PWTorch correspondent

Estimated Attendance: 4,500, possibly 5,000. Results:

(1) Neville beat King Barrett. Good opening match. Barrett talked a bunch of smack about the city. Good heel heat. Neville received a huge pop and hit the Red Arrow for the win.

(2) Luke Harper beat Zack Ryder. Decent match for a live event. Erick Rowan attacked Ryder after the match, then Harper and Rowan did their version of the 3-D on Ryder. Good crowd reaction.

(3) Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) beat Bo Dallas & Heath Slater. Good comedy match. Dallas and Slater did not want to get in the ring with Titus until Titus threw Slater out of the ring. After the match, Dallas "quit the band" much to Slaters dismay. Slater then challenged anybody in the back to a match. Enter AXELMANIA!

(4) Curtis Axel beat Heath Slater. Quick match. Axel did his Hulk Hogan act after being kicked around a bit. Huge pop for Axel. All in all a good, fun segment.

(5) Dean Ambrose beat Kane. Solid match with the usual spots for Ambrose and Kane. Ambrose got a big pop from the crowd. Kane got a big mixed reaction. By that i mean he had a decent contingent of Kane supporters along with my two daughters.

[Short Intermission]

(6) Divas champion Nikki Bella beat Tamina Snuka to retain the Divas Title. Solid Divas match. No Brie at ringside. Nikki got a nice pop and showed that she was definitely improved in the ring.

(7) WWE tag champions New Day beat Tyson Kidd & Cesaro w/Natalya to retain the WWE Tag Titles. New Day got massive heat by bringing up the New England Patriots's "Deflategate," then Natalya got a "New Day Sucks" chant going. Good back and forth tag match as we have seen these teams have. (I missed part of match due to and ice cream run....kids). The Freebirds Rule was in effect, but Big E. and Xavier Woods were the main wrestlers in the match. Kofi interfered when the ref was not looking to secure the victory.

(8) U.S. champion John Cena beat Rusev in a steel cage match to retain the United States Title. Huge pop for Cena and huge heat for Rusev for the main event. Good back and forth action and saves from both men when the other tried escaping the cage. This had the usual spots in any Cena-Rusev match. Towards the end, Lana appeared and waited by ringside. When Cena was going for the door, she slammed the door on Cena. (I feel a double-turn coming at some point on Dolph Ziggler on TV.) The finish of the match was as follows: Rusev was going through the door, but Cena climbed over the cage, kicked the door closed, and then jumped down for victory.

Very good live event. The crowd was bigger and more into the event then the last time WWE came to Manchester in 2013.

Biggest Pops:

(1) Cena
(2) Ambrose
(3) Neville

Biggest Heat:

(1) Rusev
(2) New Day
(3) King Barrett
