WWE Live show results
March 22, 2015
San Diego, Calif.
Report by Shawn Rossi, PWTorch reader

WWE's return to San Diego and the Valley View Casino Center (formerly known as, and preferred name, the Sports Arena) provided an entertaining night. I've been to the last two Summerslams in L.A., but haven't been to a show here in my home city of San Diego for a while. So coming in a little spoiled on production value, I was less than enthusiastic about the very dark lighting, two small televisions as video boards, and low budget set up. The top sections were also covered by black banners, unsold. And the Sports, er Valley View, is an old, outdated arena with bad acoustics, so we could barely hear the entrance music of anyone. I'm estimating attendance at 8,000.

(1) Jack Swagger beat Adam Rose via submission. Swagger was over with "We the People" chants.

(2) Stardust beat Goldust via pinfall. Goldie dominated the match, but little brother snuck out a quick pin at the end.

(3) R-Truth beat Fandango (w/Rosa Mendes).

(4) WWE tag champions Cesaro & Tyson Kidd beat New Day, The Ascension, and Prime Time Players in a Fatal Four-way match to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Chants of "NXT" toward Ascension.

(5) Ryback beat U.S. champion Rusev via DQ; Rusev retained the U.S. Title. Classic heel moves by Rusev trying to leave and using a chair to get DQ'd. Chants of "We Want Lana" during the match. Rusev continued beating Ryback after the match, but he rebounded to Shell-shock Rusev and leave to his music.

[Intermission]

(6) Erick Rowan beat Bo Dallas. Dallas played to the crowd before the match guaranteeing a win like Babe Ruth. I smell squash. Yep, Rowan won in less than two minutes. After the match, Dallas blamed San Diego fans for losing and called out anyone in the back who wants to take him on. And if he doesn't win he will never come back to San Diego again. So...

(7) Zack Ryder beat Bo Dallas. Dallas took the mic to say something after the match but instead gave up, dropped the mic, and stumbled off.

(8) Divas champion Nikki Bella (w/Brie Bella) beat Paige to retain the Divas Title. San Diego voted for Brie to stay ringside. Actually a decent and exciting match. Both Divas were cheered heavily, and Paige teased the crowd by encouraging them to give her loud cheers to take her top layer shirt off. Both Paige and Nikki traded offense, had nearfalls, and executed a high-quality match. This match and the Main Event I would put as the top two matches, followed by Rusev vs. Ryback.

(9) John Cena & Randy Orton beat Seth Rollins & Big Show when Orton RKO'd Rollins for a pin. Cena was dominated by Show and Rollins most of the match, while Rollins taunted Orton. Late in the match, Rollins cheap-shot Orton from the turnbuckle into the railing. Orton got up, got a hot tag from Cena, and dominated Rollins. Cena snuck in the STF on Show and Orton RKO'd Rollins for the win, ending the night to a cheering crowd.

Biggest pops of the night for everyone involved in the main event. Well, almost. Show had no heat when he first tagged in. Cena got cheered/booed the entire time from entrance through the match. Orton was heavily cheered for biggest pop of night.

WWE returns to San Diego on Friday, July 31 for a house show leading up to Summerslam.
