Report by Adam Orion, PWTorch reader
Local Radio personality from 100.3 The Bear, Yukon Jack, heeled it up with the crowd to start. Tony Chimel was the ring announcer.
(1) R-Truth beat Tyson Kidd. Good opener. Kidd got heat by wearing a Calgary Flames jersey
(2) Darren Young beat Adam Rose. Nothing special. However, Rose got a lot more heat than I expected. Best chant of the night: "Hot dogs suck" toward the Rosebuds.
(3) Ryback beat Kane. Ryback got a huge ovation. He won with Shell-shock. Another good shout was "You'll never walk again" toward Kane after receiving a sloppy-looking spinebuster from Ryback. (This person was referencing C.M. Punk's podcast comments on Ryback.)
(4) WWE tag champs The Usos beat The Miz & Damien Mizdow to retain the Tag Titles. Amazing comedy match that was very much like the Royal Rumble encounter. Mizdow was insanely over.
(5) Chris Jericho beat Cesaro. Jericho came out for the "Highlight Reel." The only way we could tell was a graphic on the 'Tron, otherwise it was basically Jericho just hamming it up with the crowd before being randomly interrupted by Cesaro. They had a good little match, Jericho won with the Codebreaker.
[Intermission]
(6) Naomi & Emma & NXT Women's champion Charlotte beat Summer Rae & Cameron & NXT'er Sasha Banks in a six-Divas tag match. Mostly Charlotte and Sasha in this match. Naomi pinned Cameron for the win.
(7) U.S. champion Rusev (w/Lana) beat Erick Rowan to retain the U.S. Title. Rusev got good heat when he entered, but the crowd was pretty flat for this match.
(8) Roman Reigns beat Big Show in a Street Fight. This was a waaay better match than it should have been. These guys went to town with tables, steel chairs, and the stairs. Reigns won with a spear through a table.
Overall, it was a good show. Probably a bit better than the one that was here in July, but I'll make the same point I made then - it's frustrating to see SO much John Cena merchandise for sale when you *know* he's not going to be appearing. I think this time was a little more irritating considering this was probably the least amount of time between two shows (six months), and we got a lot of repeat appearances from July.
