August 23, 2014
San Diego, Calif.
Report by Scott G., PWTorch correspondent

Just a little info about the arena itself - the entire top part of the Casino Center was tarped off, with the middle section being about 75 percent full and the floor seats pretty much sold out. There looked to be about 6,000 people in attendance and the crowd was great! They were very lively and into the action (gasping at nearfalls, harassing Rusev with "USA" chants, etc.). Overall, it was a very fun and enjoyable evening. Here are the results:

(1) R-Truth beat Damien Sandow. Sandow did a great job getting heat and antagonizing the crowd. After the match, Damien said he couldn't go to the back without winning and called for another opponent from the back. Out came Adam Rose and...

(2) Adam Rose beat Damien Sandow. Very short match with Rose hitting the Party Foul for the win.

(3) The Dust Brothers (Goldust & Stardust) beat Slater Gator (Heath Slater & Titus O'Neill). Good solid match with lots of fan interaction and cheering for the Dust Brothers.

(4) The Great Khali beat Damien Sandow. After a few matches, Sandow came out and requested yet ANOTHER match so he could leave San Diego victorious. He challenged anyone from the back and the Great Khali answered the call. Two seconds after the bell rang, Khali knocked out Sandow with the Khali Chop and got the 1, 2, 3.

(5) Big Show beat Antonio Cesaro. Huge pops for both Big Show and Cesaro when their theme music hit. Big Show is incredibly nimble for his size and flew around the ring tonight. Good solid match. Show won by countering the Neutralizer with a back body drop (Cesaro landed on his feet), then hitting Cesaro with the Knockout Punch for the pin. Interestingly, Big Show was super over with the crowd but got booed fervently for countering the Cesaro Swing.

(6) Divas champion Paige beat Natalya to retain the Divas Title. The crowd was really behind Natty in this one. Good match that ended with Paige winning in screwy fashion.

(7) Rob Van Dam beat Curtis Axel. I didn't see this one, but RVD won by pinfall.

(8) Rusev beat Jack Swagger. Rusev entered first and had incredible heat with the crowd from the moment his music hit. San Diego is a town that has a large military presence and they didn't take too kindly to Lana's remarks about America. Swagger's music cut her off and definitely got the biggest pop of the night. It was a back and forth battle with the crowd continually chanting "USA, USA." One thing that was cool was when Swagger had Rusev in the corner and was delivering mounted punches, the crowd chanted "USA" in unison with Swagger's punches instead of counting to ten. The finish came when Swagger applied the Anklelock and Lana distracted the ref. When Swagger got up to get the ref's attention, Rusev hit him with a low blow from behind and applied The Accolade to force Swagger to tap out.

(9) Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins in the main event No DQ Tables match. Good match with a lot of action happening outside the ring. Both Reigns and Rollins got strong reactions throughout the match, especially Rollins since he played the cowardly heel so well. He even went so far as to grab the house mic after beating down Reigns a bit and claim that he was gonna put Reigns on the "Missing Persons list, just like I did Dean Ambrose." Reigns then reversed Rollins, grabbed the mic, and said "This is for The Shield, B-----!" before beating the crap out of Rollins and getting a huge pop. Soon, Reigns set up a table in the ring and there were several near-finishes for both men. The end came when Rollins stood up the table in the corner, then tried to whip Reigns into it, but Reigns reversed and, after a few near-finishes, hit Rollins with a crushing spear through the table for the win.

After the match, Reigns posed in the ring, got fans to do his roar, and thanked the fans for their support.

Biggest Pops:

(1) Swagger
(2) Reigns
3) Natalya
(4) RVD / Big Show

Biggest Heat:

(1) Rollins/Rusev
(2) Cesaro
(3) Damien Sandow

Loudest Chants During The Show:

(1) USA / We The People
(2) We Want Tables (during the Reigns-Rollins match)
(3) Yes!
(4) C.M. Punk
