Calgary, Alb., Canada
Report by Michael Gibbons, PWTorch reader

Attendance was really low for the show. About one section was empty in the lower bowl, and there might have been ten people in the second bowl. This was my first WWE event in Calgary and I expected a huge crowd, but the event was poorly promoted and compared with the other house show line-up, we definitely had the B Squad. Besides The Usos and Chris Jericho, no one that had merchandise for sale that was actually there (Bryan, Cena, Shield, Sheamus, etc). With that said, it was a good show and the crowd reaction was great.

(1) R-Truth beat Fandango via pinfall. This was a fun opener. Truth won with the Little Jimmy out of nowhere.

(2) Tyson Kidd & El Torito & un Matador beat Titus O'Neil & Heath Slater & Hornswoggle via pinfall. This was another decent match. The crowd was really into the hometown Kidd, who won the match when he pinned O'Neil with a top-rope Blockbuster.

(3) IC champion The Miz beat Kofi Kingston via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Title. This was okay. The match had some good nearfalls, which is all you want out of a house show title match, but there was a ton of stalling as Miz tried to protect his face. He also did a fake leg injury bit (complete with doctors) and later tried to leave ringside with his belt. After Kofi got Miz back in the ring, Miz won with a small package.

(4) WWE tag champs The Usos beat The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) via pinfall to retain the Tag Titles. Typical good action from these teams; Usos won with a top-rope splash. The Usos and Wyatts were both really over with the crowd.

(Intermission)

(5) Natalya & Emma & Layla beat Eva Marie & Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes via submission in a six-Divas tag match. The fans chose the match over a dance contest. The crowd loved Natalya in her hometown. Some notable things: Alicia Fox took a slice of pizza from the front row and shoved it in Emma's face, Fox also broke up a pin attempt with a diving slap in the ass, and there were some "C-M-Punk" and "You Can't Wrestle" chants during boring Eva Marie moments. Natalya won the match with a DOUBLE Sharpshooter.

(6) Big Show quickly beat Cesaro via pinfall with a KO Punch. Seeing Big Show was a spectacle, but I would have liked to see Cesaro in a longer, more competitive match. The crowd was into both men and Cesaro got the second biggest pop of the night for teasing the Giant Swing.

(7) Chris Jericho beat Bray Wyatt via pinfall. The crowd wanted to cheer for Wyatt and Jericho in this one. Harper and Rowan were ejected by the ref, but ran in during a ref bump only to be fought off by The Usos. After this, Jericho won with a Codebreaker.

After the match, Wyatt attacked Jericho and teased a chairshot until Bret Hart showed up to the biggest pop of the night. Jericho then hit Wyatt in the gut with the chair and Hart punched him out of the ring.

Overall, despite the lack of star power this was a fun show. Every match was entertaining and seeing Bret Hart was a great unexpected surprise given that he was not advertised.
