Report by Dylon Wells, PWTorch correspondent
The Laredo Energy Arena filled up really quickly with people! Various classic promos and matches played while we waited for the action.
(1) IC champion Big E. beat The Miz at 10:00 to retain the Intercontinental Title. Decent start with the usual antics from both men. The match ended when Miz attempted the Skull Crushing Finale, but Big E. countered with a tilt-a-whirl into the Big Ending for the win. (*1/2)
(2) The Great Khali beat Brodus Clay at 4:07. Slow, but entertaining. An okay match and what you would expect from these two. Khali won with a chop. (3/4*)
(3) Sin Cara & Los Matadores beat 3MB at 9:41 in a six-man tag match. This was a "Fans's Choice match." The results were 61 percent for match and 39 percent for dance-off. Good comedic action throughout the match. 3MB picked apart un Matadore for the last few minutes until Sin Cara tagged in and cleaned house. Cara hit the Senton on Drew McIntyre for the win. (**)
Afterward, 3MB took on all of the faces except for El Torito. They attempted to triple-team the face trio until Los Matadores and Cara regained control and all four took out Heath Slater.
(4) Divas champion A.J. Lee (w/Tamina Snuka) beat Cameron at 4:48 to retain the Divas Title. A little better than their matches as of late. Cameron had a lot of momentum in a comeback and then climbed to the turnbuckle and was distracted by Tamina. Tamina got axe-handled to the outside and A.J. immediately rolled up a distracted Cameron for the three count. (*)
(5) The Shield beat The Wyatts at 15:20 in a six-man tag match. These teams never disappoint; really good action from both teams. Back and forth throughout and most of the match had a good mixture of powerhouse and high-flying moves. Roman Reigns pretty much cleaned house at the end and hit the spear on Luke Harper for the win. (***1/4)
[Intermission]
(6) Dolph Ziggler & Emma beat Fandango & Summer Rae at 9:08 in a mixed tag match. Decent and comedic at times between these teams. Nothing different really from either wrestler. Dolph won with the Zig-Zag on Fandango while Emma took out Rae. Afterward, both danced "Emma Style." (*3/4)
(7) Big Show beat Christian at 12:05. Good match that had its slow moments. Christian's heel tactics never failed, as he was very entertaining. Christian failed to put away Show with a Frog Splash, though. Due to frustration, he went out of the ring to grab a chair, but before he could use it, Show punched Christian in the gut and smacked the chair out of his hands. Show followed with a Knockout punch for the win. (**1/4)
[Second Intermission to set up the cage for the main event]
(8) Daniel Bryan beat Kane at 10:36 in a Steel Cage match. More like a "go home happy" kind of match. Not bad, but it was a crowd-pleaser. Kane attempted a Tombstone after reversing the "Yes!" kicks into a Sidewalk Slam, but Bryan climbed out over Kane's shoulders and ran right into Kane with a running knee for a good three count. (*1/4)
"Yes" chants closed out the show for a few-minute celebration to end the show. Quite a good show once again in Laredo.
Biggest Pops:
(1) Daniel Bryan
(2) Big Show
(3) Roman Reigns
(4) Sin Cara
(5) Emma
Most Heat:
(1) Christian (during his match)
(2) Kane
(3) 3MB
(4) Kane
(5) Fandango
