BTW WrestleFest results

Report by "Funky" Sam Medina of San Jose, PWTorch VIP member
I went to BTW's WrestleFest & wrestling show, so I wanted to write a report about how the event was.
WrestleFest was held at Newark High School, whose school gym was really big. Things were spread out and it didn't seem overly-crowded like these have felt in the past. The people that were throughout the day were RVD, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Mickie James, Colt Cabana, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, Harry Smith, Winter, Terri Runnels, Lanny Poffo, Virgil, Chris Masters, and Honky Tonk Man. Not everyone was out at once, they had them in shifts, but Colt, Virgil, and RVD hung around all day.
Colt Cabana was a class act, he was a really nice guy. We hung around around his table for a while and chatted wrestling. He was a favorite among the kids; why this guy isn't on Saturday Morning Slam is a mystery to me.
Virgil was a crack-up. He got pissed at me when I didn't want to pay $35 for his autograph. He had this huge poster behind him that said: "Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and Virgil." DiBiase was actually there, so we figured that Virgil stole the poster from an old signing.
Everyone was pretty nice, the lines weren't too long, and it was a great time overall. After the Fanfest, we hung out outside just talking to other fans because we had three hours to kill before to show started. Most of the wrestlers came out one-by-one and someone on-staff would drive them to their hotel, which was directly across the street. The best was Virgil came out, walked past all the fans, then did a walk of shame through the parking lot to the hotel.
The wrestling show was really fun, we sat second row, and there were about 300 people there in total. The show kicked off with Rowdy Roddy Piper. You couldn't hear what he was saying, but he was having fun cutting whatever promo.
(1) Colt Cabana beat Victor Sterling.
(2) David Hart Smith (British Bulldog, Jr.) (w/Bret Hart) beat Ryan Von Kool.
(3) Shelton Benjamin beat Kimo.
(4) Jason Styles beat Honky Tonk Man.
(5) L'Empereur & Shane Kody beat Tony Vargas & Synn. During the match, the ref threw up an "X" and L'Empereur was help to the back with a knee injury. It looked like a work, but who knows. Shane Kody got double-teamed, but in the end the BTW Champion Shane Kody scored a pinfall over both men the same time
[ 15-20 minute intermission ]
(6) Mickie James beat Winter.
(7) Chris Masters beat Carlito in the main event.
The show was great and a fun night. I highly recommend Big Time Wrestling to anyone in the Bay Area in California.
