WWE Smackdown house show results
April 19, 2013
Newcastle, England
Report by Steve Cruickshanks (@Lordgerard666), PWTorch reader

Lilian Garcia came to the ring to start the proceedings. She sang the U.K. national anthem, "God Save The Queen," which drew a large applause.

(1) Santino & Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal & Ted DiBiase beat Prime Time Players & Primo & Epico (w/Rosa Mendes) in an eight-man tag match. Santino hit the Cobra for the win. During the match, the crowd showed Santino and Drew McIntyre some appreciation.

After the bell rang to end the match, The Shield ran past me and into the ring to attack Santino and anyone left in the ring. They then took to the mic and told the crowd that they were going to have a match against the New Age Outlaws and Sheamus in a six-man tag main event.

(2) Fandango beat Alex Riley. The crowd sang Fandango's theme, which was really funny!

(3) IC champion Wade Barrett beat Justin Gabriel to retain the Intercontinental Title. The crowd gave Wade some love in his home country.

(4) Mark Henry beat The Great Khali. Not a very good match, in my opinion. Henry looked good, but, unfortunately, I think it is time Khali hung up his boots. Khali's movement was terrible and it looked like he was struggling to get down the ramp even before he got to the ring.

Time for Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio in a No Disqualification match. Before the match, Lilian Garcia told the crowd to vote to decide whether Zeb Colter was allowed to stay at ringside. Swagger and Zeb Colter then made their entrance with Jack holding up a "Don't Tread On Me" flag. When they were in the ring, they gave the usual U.S.A. speech, then Zeb said, "We love it here in Sunderland!" (referring to Sunderland being Newcastle's local rivals).

Ricardo Rodriguez then introduced Alberto Del Rio, who came to the ring wearing a Newcastle United black and white striped scarf. Alberto took the mic and called Zeb a "wanker" (this was funny, as "wanker" is an insulting British word that maybe shouldn't be used in front of children, but I don't think he really knew its meaning). The crowd voted that Zeb was to leave ringside.

(5) Alberto Del Rio beat Jack Swagger via submission to the cross arm-breaker in a No DQ match.

(6) Natalya beat Alicia Fox.

(7) Randy Orton beat Big Show. This was a really good match and I can see the company furthering a storyline with this. The crowd was hot for both Superstars.

(8) New Age Outlaws & Sheamus beat The Shield via DQ in a six-man tag match. Great match! Outlaws showed they "still got it."

After the match, my son and I got down to the barrier and got tagged by Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and Sheamus. I shouted to Sheamus, "How ya doin, fella?" and he replied in his Irish accent, "All right, how are you?" That made my night. [ Video URL: http://youtu.be/KTXVgLrky6M ]
