Top Rope Pro Wrestling results
April 13, 2013
Waynesboro, Va.
Report by Chris Davidson (@ChrisDavidson81), PWTorch reader

Before the show, Mick Foley did a comedy show. And, for an extra fee, there was an autograph session with Foley, Jake Roberts, Kevin Nash, and some of the other wrestlers. Bell time was scheduled at 8:00 and at 8:15, they announced the show would start in ten minutes but, hey, that's indy wrestling. The show started at 8:25 p.m.

(1) Jalin Olivincia beat Cliff Compton by pinfall. Compton got good heat and the fans were hot for Jalin. This match started without a ref, and about two minutes in, the ring announcer brought one out.

(2) Preston Michaels beat Mark Anthony and Ray Storm after some overbooking. All three men were pushing 45-50 and this match was terrible. Apparently, it was for a title and after a ref bump and some foreign objects, Michaels was given the belt, but another ref came out to give it to Anthony to retain. It was confusing.

Jake the Snake announced he was returning to the ring and it would be in Waynesboro. He looks phenomenal, and thanked the fans for helping pay for his shoulder surgery.

(3) Rob Terry beat Robbie E. via Torture Rack in a TNA Battle. They put on a decent match, but it wasn't anything great.

(4) Natural Born Thrillaz beat Buzz & Barbarian by count-out. One of the Thrillaz was beating on Barbarian when the ref decided Buzz, who bailed on the match, was the legal man and counted him out. Afterwards, the Thrillaz showed respect to Barbarian, which was very deserved.

(5) Rip Sawyer & two others beat D.J. Murdoch & Asaafi & Jeremy Rhodes. The mic wasn't working properly and it was hard to tell their names. This was billed as "a tag match, but with three men on each side" and started with Sawyer getting the crowd to chant "Turd-och." The six-man tag was fun, but the crowd was getting restless in the heat of the gymnasium.

(6) Main Event: Rock and Roll Express beat Kevin Nash & X-Pac. The crowd popped big when Nash and X-Pac came out. I was surprised to see X-Pac back in action after his injury a few weeks ago. Nash did most of the heavy lifting, though, but after X-Pac did a few moves he was holding his posterior, clearly favoring it. My wife commented he should have worn black tights instead of neon green, just in case. Even in his old age, it's always a privilege to watch Ricky Morton play Ricky Morton. Both Ricky and Bobby pinned Nash together, which was somehow legal and good for the win.

This wasn't a bad show, but it also wasn't a good show. There were numerous weird moments and tons of questionable booking. It was great seeing Jake the Snake, Nash, and X-Pac, but the wrestling left much to be desired.

UPDATE: After the show, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman ripped promoter Marvin Ward, claiming they were not paid for their appearance.
