WWE Smackdown house show results
March 16, 2013
Hammond, Ind.
Report by Darren M. Zancan, PWTorch reader

The arena was packed to the brim - Hammond Civic Center is not the most comfortable spot to watch an event, but nonetheless, legitimate sell-out. Probably 5,000.

(1) Great Khali beat Primo & Epico in a handicap match. Natalya and Rosa got into at ringside. Khali was surprisingly over.

(2) Yoshi Tatsu defeated Michael McGillicutty. Tatsu won with a surprise roll-up. McGillicutty came back in the ring and gave his finisher.

(3) Layla defeated Alicia Fox. Layla with her springboard move for the pin. No one really seemed to care.

(4) Jack Swagger defeated Justin Gabriel. Basic squash. Gabriel got in a few moves, but it was made to have Swagger look strong.

For some reason the Heavyweight Title match was on next. There was a stipulation where fans voted on Ricardo Rodriguez being banned from ringside, but fans voted for him to stay.

(5) World Hvt. champion Alberto Del Rio beat Big Show in a Last Man Standing match to retain the World Title. Del Rio delivered a huracanrana, in which Big Show barely hit the base of the table and broke it. He couldn't meet the ten count.

[Intermission]

(6) IC champion Wade Barrett beat Bo Dallas to retain the IC Title. No one knew who Dallas was. We knew who he was, but started a "Who's Bo Dallas?" chant, which people picked up on. It was a back-and-forth match, with Dallas getting several nearfalls. Barrett hit the Bullhammer on Dallas when Dallas came off the top rope.

(7) WWE tag champions Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane) beat Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow) to retain the Tag Titles. Bryan was OVER. Mid-match, Bryan hit Kane with a double ax handle off the top rope by accident. They argued, but the crowd started chanting "hug it out." They were about to, but Rhodes Scholars attacked. It was a great seemingly impromptu part of the match. Double finishers by Bryan and Kane for the win. After the match, they argued over the belts, finally hugged, and left. Good long match.

(8) Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry via DQ in the main event. Orton was OVER. Biggest pop of the night, but Bryan's was very, very close. Orton was about to hit the RKO when Henry jumped out of the ring. Tony Chimmel grabbed the bell ringer, so we knew the match was about to end. Henry grabbed a chair and hit Orton to cause the DQ.

Orton eventually gave Henry the RKO so the fans could leave happy. Disappointing main event. Orton worked the crowd, but it was a slow match, with several stalls.
