WWE Raw house show results
June 6, 2012
Madrid, Spain
Report by Jacobo Garcia, PWTorch reader
Three-fourths of the arena was full, less than a Smackdown show a year ago. John Laurinaitis opened the show - some heat for Big Johnny.
(1) U.S. champion Santino beat David Otunga and Jack Swagger (w/Vickie Guerrero) in a three-way match to retain the U.S. Title. Fun comedy match, and Santino was super over. Also, Otunga did a muscle dance!
(2) Alex Riley beat Curt Hawkins. Good spots, and Curt used Edge's finisher.
(3) Divas champion Layla beat Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas Title. The crowd was flat for this match.
(4) John Cena beat Big Show, Tensai, and John Laurinaitis in a handicap match. The Palace exploded when Cena entered. Cena won when Show hit Tensai with the WMD. Also, Laurinaitis took the Attitude Adjustment.
[Intermission]
(5) Mason Ryan beat Michael McGilicutty. Quote from someone in the crowd as Ryan squashed McGillicutty: "Please, someone stop this."
(6) WWE tag champion Kofi Kingston & Zack Ryder beat Primo & Epico to retain the Tag Titles. Where was R-Truth? Primo pinned Kofi, but a second referee stopped and re-started the match. Kofi then scored the pin after Trouble in Paradise. Great match. Also, Primo and Epico cut a promo in Spanish.
(7) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Daniel Bryan in a Street Fight to retain the WWE Title. Best match of the night, and a real pleasure to see the two best wrestlers in the world. There were lots of "Yes!" and "No!" chants.
(Also of note: Dolph Ziggler was not on the show, but he tweeted that he was on his way to Spain, presumably to join the tour in progress.)
Best Pops:
- Cena
- Punk
- Santino
- Daniel Bryan
- Kofi
Best Heat:
- Laurinaitis
- Daniel Bryan (no chants)
- Vickie Guerrero
- David Otunga
