WWE Holiday Tour house show results
December 17, 2011
Long Island, N.Y. at Nassau Coliseum
Report by Mike Omansky, PWTorch contributor

Estimated crowd: 8,000 range. WWE did not deliver the two main advertised matches; nonetheless, a very good card. Advertised was a four-way WWE Title match of Punk vs. Cena vs. Miz vs. Del Rio with Foley as referee. Also, Mark Henry vs. Big Show for the World Title.

(1) WWE tag champions Air Boom (Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne) beat Primo & Epico (w/Rosa Mendes) to retain the Tag Titles. Bourne pinned Primo with an Air Bourne. Solid opener, polished match. (**)

(2) Daniel Bryan beat Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley). Decent match. After the match, Dolph Ziggler attacked Bryan. (*1/2)

(3) Kelly Kelly & Eve beat Divas champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya. Phoenix took the pin. Typical Divas tag match. (*)

(4) Ted DiBiase beat Jinder Mahal. Dream Street for DiBiase and the pin. Crickets. (DUD) Ziggler came out again, and attacked DiBiase after the match.

(5) Zack Ryder beat U.S. champion Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) via DQ; Ziggler retained the U.S. Title. The crowd was solidly behind Ryder in his hometown; were chanting his name periodically during the first four matches. Strong match that crowd was into. The finish saw Ryder hit the Rough Ryder; the crowd went nuts. As the ref started counting the pin, Vickie Guerrero leaped in and on top of Ryder's back. Instead of finishing the pin count, the ref called for a DQ, letting Ziggler retain the title. (**1/2)

(6) Big Show beat Jack Swagger. Weapon of Mass Destruction and the pin. Good, albeit typical meeting between the two. Show bounced him around most of the time, except for the attack-the-leg routine. Fans were totally into the match. (**)

(7) John Cena beat The Miz in a Street Fight. Cena won with the Attitude Adjustment for a pin in a match that approached half-an-hour. This was fans's choice with the options of two-out-of-three falls, Falls Count Anywhere, or Street Fight. It was actually close between the last two, but Street Fight was declared the winner. Each man had the advantage at different points throughout the match. Miz used the stairs once and the ropes from the turnbuckle once. Beyond that, more like a No DQ match. The finish saw Double clotheslines leaving both men laying. Lights go out, Kane's music hits, and he come out to chokeslam Cena. As Kane leaves, Cena recovers, so Kane returns. This time, Cena knocks him out of the ring, and swings back for the AA on Miz. (***)

(8) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) with Mick Foley as ringside enforcer to retain the WWE Title. Punk won with the Go To Sleep for the pin. Overall, good match dominated by Del Rio. Finish: In spite of a ref bump in the ring, Ricardo posting Foley on the outside, and Del Rio attacking Punk with a chair, the stars align for the ref to recover, Punk to throw Del Rio into Ricardo, and hit his finisher.

After the match, Ziggler came out again to attack Punk and Foley. The troops rallied, and Foley and Punk beat up Ricardo to close the show.
